Really nice job. I put a piece of 3/4 inch exterior plywood on my cart and added an oak strip at the end of the plywood so equipment would not fall off of the end. Also extended the plywood by 3 inches on the two sides and on the end away from the handle. Painted it with marine varnish and has worked really good for 4 yrs. now. Thanks for great video.
Great project for sure! Really like the way you replaced the sheet steel on the top, similar to the rusted mower deck you repaired, tucking that one away for future reference. For DIY welder...you really get the job done.

Pretty good buy there. I bolted on a 3/4 piece of plywood to make mine about 6 inches wider and a couple of inches longer. Comes in real handy getting heavy stuff in and out of my truck bed. I also use it like a work bench for my push mower (got that idea from Bruce Pender’s channel).
Great score! If you can repair something yourself I say why not! I added a plywood top for a little overlap on mine and now I fit mower decks no problem. 👍🏼👍🏼 from this guy!

Hi, question, I turned my lawn mower upside down to look at blade and realized the gas was leaking. I have not tried to run it. I am curious if I should have it looked at or will it be ok to run it?
Kinda late now... but maybe for you next project... Your flattening with the truck didn't work because at the most pressure (guessing on the weight of your truck) you were able to apply would be only 1 3/4 ton on the corner, up to possibly 3 1/2 ton, if you lifted the whole front of the truck off the ground. Plus you have to bend it past where you want it to be, so it will spring back to where you want it. With it flat on the ground you can't. If you had blocked the table with 2x4's in a "U" shape around the dent, and tried pressing with the jack point under the center of the truck, you possibly could have bent it back with that little of weight applied. Or used something heavier to push against. And don't try and flatten it in one shot... work your way towards the worse part of the dent. I have bent steel like that, but I use my 12 ton stealth camper and a 20 ton jack and wood blocks. And you still have to "shrink" the metal afterwards or it will oil can or be wavy. And a cement floor with a hammer won't work either. You have to have steel dolly or a block of wood behind it in order to work it with a hammer. That is why blacksmith's anvils aren't concrete. You are lucky you didn't crack your floor. Hitting it harder doesn't always work, it actually makes it worse in some cases. You have to work the metal, don't let the metal work you... You were adding to the dent by not hitting it flat with the hammer, you were "stretching" the metal, when you actually needed to "shrink" the metal. You should have used a shrinking hammer. And when you are doing a piece with a lip, don't straighten the lip until after you get the metal "around the corner of the lip" straight. And then you will need to shrink the lip. By bending it straight first, you are adding to the resistance of getting the other side straight because the lip is already "stretched". Best to just let the lip do it's thing until you get close to it, then bend it out of the way, not straight. After the one side it straight or where you want it, shrink or stretch the lip. If you are using heat, you have to work the edge of the dent, get it cherry hot, hammer it flatter, then quench it, move over to the edge of the spot you just did, repeat, following the outside curve of the dent, then working towards the center. Same as doing car body work, but you aren't "tapping" on it, you are hitting it slightly harder. I repair wrecked trailers and bent mower decks using all of these techniques depending on what needs to be done... Use those rails you ripped off or find some scrap steel and practice...
Wow, you did a lot of work on that table but it will be well worth it. Great job of metal work and welding. Did you say your press was a new tool? Seems like for all the work for a huge top patch it might have been simpler to cover the whole top with a new piece and weld at the edges rather than inserting the patch.
Seems that the basic tool kit for you Yanks is, an oxy acetylene set, an angle grinder and a full range of hammers. I guess one can beat anything into submission. Just sayin!!!

And if you only need a shorter length piece, you can re-purpose even the bent metal.
You really should use the guard on your angle grinder. It could save you a lot of hurt down the road.

Safety last with the cut off wheel. Cut off wheels come apart and can do some serious damage.
I picked up a similar model today and I have one dent on the table. My problem is that it won't go down for me.
