It was nice of him to mention Martin Yan towards the beginning. I've seen a collaboration between them and it was great.

@@kqed Great food, like mathematics, transcends national boundaries. At the end of the day, we can always count on the fact that 2+2=4 and that somewhere along the line we need to eat.

Can't say enough about this guy - he's the reason I became a cook - so effortless and charming yet gently authoritative and wise - he's the GOAT in my humble opinion!

My absolute favorite chef of all time is Jacques Pepin. Jacques, I have learned so much from you but it would be 30 paragraphs if I were to tell you here just how much I have learned.
Every dish that I have made from one of your recipes has turned out wonderful and I can't even tell you all the knowledge that you have imparted to me. From your knowledge of cookware to Kitchen implements to sauces, vegetable preparations, seafood, I mean just everything!
I love you so much and can never thank you enough for all that you have taught me. I am SO grateful to you. God bless you!❤❤

I hope to make this entire menu soon. If I do, I'll report back. I made a grilled eggplant salad from another one of his shoes and it was *delicious* 🤤

That fish smoked with fennel I read about in a barbecue cookbook. Fennel is great for smoking.

Guy just reviews restaurants, they're two different things. Unfortunately there aren't that many cooking shows like this anymore, but at least we have the old ones we can watch anytime we want online.
