What I would love to see in Blender would be the ability to draw a 2D shape on a plane and then to push/pull the shape into a 3D object like you do in Sketchup...
One thing missing in the dimensions is vertical dimensions. These should be part of it. A lot of architectural plans im given also contain vertical elevations.
There is a problem i had to find a custom work around for and thats the fact that once you do the inside of the home you can only build on 1 side of the wall. IT wont snap to both sides and there is no option to do so yet. So now you either have to bild every wall in 2 separate parts an inner and outer interior wall to be able to snap to both sides or you have to rotate the cabinets on the z access 180 and them move them into proper position but it will not snap. This problem doubles the time to anything besides just one room which in archviz you are usually doing the entire house.
How does one animate rotating a Homebuilder door open or closed, or the door pull rotating up and down? I see no keyframe button to capture positions of these objects.
Hi Justin. Great video again. It looks like you can turn the visibility of the walls on and off? That's always stopped me using wall making addons. They often make the wall one piece so I've just drawn them separately. Being able to turn walls off is a great plus for visualising the room from different angles.
I'm evaluating both Archipack Pro and Home Builder 4. I own Archipack Pro but HB has more desirable features. Is it possible to use a DXF file as a reference and snap to its vertices to build my walls? I am fortunate enough to have a 1:1 scaled DXF file of my house; both lower and upper floors. With Archipack, I can snap to vertices but not with HB4. Perhaps I am doing something wrong but this is really frustrating.
those furniture provided, can they be rotated or moved without becoming deformed? I tried moving some kitchen units from ne of the back-dated versiond and could not. The unit went helter-skelter, thats why I'm enquiring!
AFAIK you can select object, then right click and choose first option "Something prompts". You can move and rotate whole object there changing Location and Rotation parameters. Moving objects with mouse would be much better of course, but I don't know if there is a way to do it. Though, I'm literally second day in Blender and don't know anything.
Thanks. Anyone can use create PDF option in View tab? Only render workfs for me. Objects tab in N panel, what is it for? To activate the library...it asked me to auto run phyton scripts...is it normal for addons to ask for this? How to change units?
I was told once the lack of logic is from practical real world limitations. Like an acre is just the amount of land the average donkey could plow in a day. A mile is just how far people in some specific location would be willing to walk to collect water if they needed to make two trips to have enough water for the day
Hi everyone! Let me know what you think about HomeBuilder in the comments below! :)

Game changer! Awesome man! Thanks for this Addon review! very interesting! Well explained 👍
Thank you for quality & dedication, Justin.
Wishing you a restful holiday & a new year full of joy and inspiring discoveries.☃🎅🎄🎊

thats really cool! i think Arichipack recetly had a new update adding blender 4.0 support, so that might be worth taking a look at as well. Thanks!

Was pretty excited to learn this over planner 5d but disappointed to see that there are no sinks and showers.
2:19 first problem (and the last)
??
@@TheCGEssentials I get some java error
Do you think its possible to build an entire project of a house in blender? Great work with the channel btw 👍
Great Video as always, any idea how it copes with sloping ceilings and roofs.

Yup you can disconnect walls as well if you need it separated.
could a house like that be imported to second life virtual world as a dae file?
Hi Justin, how to draw arrows/dimensions like you do?

Thanks and I will try it.
when I do right-tap it doesn't open the menu on the wall or on the window
Does it have roof top for exterior design?
is there a function to have the doors open and close?
I wish the developer adds geometry nodes windows because Archimesh are a bit struggle to create and look outdated
You can change every part of a window in archipack use that.
Im getting a object not in view layer error when i try to make the 2d blueprint. Help please!

Is there an option for metric as well?
yes
How can 10 ft be 120 inches? Where's the effing logic in that obsolete system? 1mile is 2000 carrots and a dog.
Because there are x12” per foot.

is it free
Useless addon
Ah - I too hate add-ons that automate tedious processes that are available for free
This wins as the most foolish comment all year
