Diamond was not a saint and didn't really know how to love and how to be loved, but he loved his brother and as i said he gave his life to save Usagi who even cried for him.
Tell that to the civilian victims of his attack on Crystal Tokyo. He and his clan would be placed on trial for war crimes and crimes against humanity if they survived to be apprehended.
