My linkage broke a few years ago cause I turned the wipers on with a thick layer of snow and ice on windshield. $200 later the mechanic charged me for parts and labor. Fast forward to this year and I accidentally did the same thing but only the passenger side was out of alignment. I wasn't going to pay another $200+ for the repair and I was going to order a new transmission off eBay and save money. After watching this clip I was able to determine that the passenger side spline was worn out. I got out the JB Weld and put a dab where the wiper arm connects to the transmission spline, now its good to go! I'll see how long it lasts!
Thank you!!! Fixed my wiper in under 2 minutes. Just had to tighten that wiper bolt, 13mm nut. SO everyone reading, try that first before you think it was the linkage like I thought it might be cause the wiper was acting crazy.
Autozone sold me new bushings which I replaced but the bushings won't snap together with all the force I dare apply. Any suggestions? Replace the entire linkage as you did? Curious why you didn't just replace the bushings? Yet, also stumped as to why my bushings won't reconnect. Thank you all.
How did you pry the center linkage off? It looks riveted. I have the exact same issue. I'm going on a road trip and I need to get this fixed. Dont want to get stuck in a storm with this issue. If you could get back to me that would be incredible.
@@IncomeOptionsTrading ok. Thank you man. I appreciate you getting back to me. So you just took a flathead and popped it off? Was putting it back on as simple as just snapping it back in place? If you cant remember its cool.
@@AJ1990. If you're talking about the connection with the white piece shown at 3:06 (I can't add an image to the comments) then yes I just pried the existing one off with a flathead and was able to snap the new linkage together onto the existing metal piece just fine. Hope that helps and makes sense.
I would be nice if you recorded yourself removing those clips instead of just explaining it, because I'm trying to pop the head up but I'm afraid I'm going to break it and I would have much more confidence and understand your explanation better if I saw you do it.

Unfortunately I think you have to replace the whole linkage, which is why I did instead of just trying the bushings
Having a rough time getting the wiper arms off. Can anyone tell me how to take em off?
@@TJLWay the arm? Just take off the cap and then the nut
@@IncomeOptionsTradingthey’re both off but it doesn’t come off. Sorry shouldve mentioned that in the last comment
@@TJLWay might just need a little elbow grease
@@IncomeOptionsTrading yeah it had some rust but it finally came off
@TJLWay awesome!

I don't remember exactly as it was quite awhile ago. I think I just pried it off with a screwdriver.
