  • Join Supervisory Park Ranger Angie Atkinson as she speaks on the experience of recently freed African Americans in the year 1864. The third year of the Civil War saw slavery being destroyed by the sword and by Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation. Wherever the Union army went tens of thousands of African Americans fled the plantations where they had been enslaved and sought freedom behind the Union lines. No one was prepared for the numbers that arrived and particularly how quickly they came. As one chaplain wrote, "it was like the oncoming of cities." The army was forced to improvise and established camps for the newly freed people but it was not trained or equipped to facilitate the transition of hundreds of thousands from slavery to freedom. The challenge to the army and the freedmen proved immense.

I believe that the clan and everybody's innocent of starting this everybody in every and and also the Black Panthers I believe that they were all confused at the beginning when you know they created these reviews I believe that they're in here but everyone is innocent of of this long historic war that's still going on in the last slightly but I believe that it was caused but I know outside of people in the United States that don't want to be brought out to very selfish

@jgvtc55Its the mindset a person is raised by.
I was in a relationship with a Canadian woman and our views weren't the same.
One night we were talking and she blurted out that she was a yankee.
I let her know right fast, that she was not a yankee, but a canuck.
Our relationship ended from a whole different subject matter than where we came from.
They've so many people in the world today that are easily led and misimformed, that it can boggle the mind.
