Such a helpful video Vladimir, thank you...to me, it's a sort of a hybrid Perdigon with easy to change thorax materials/butt colours etc...really helped me tie more consistently ...before, some of my tyings were OK, some not ...and occasionally WOW :)
If I may suggest, I personally think the Patreon model would work well for you, and all of us who really benefit from your expert mentoring can then support your generous sharing of real-world experience and quality knowledge ...you are very good indeed at what you do ...it would also allow you to stay independent of sponsors etc if you wanted to...however, I would happily click an affiliate link of yours to be pointed towards great materials etc from someone who has probably tried them all :) ...I'm going to buy my 'stuff' from someone, so why not via you :) ....your time and knowledge is valuable to me, and really helps me enjoy my recreational river fishing for wild brown trout with better flies than I have ever tied that I have more confidence in.

Thank you so much for those words and support. Its exactly as you see it... Kinf of perdigon with interchangeable thorax. Cool fly you will see. Especially small in summer.
Regarding patreon, i was thinking to do it. But i live in china and i am not sure i can connect it with my chinese account.... I may try.
Same applies for affiliate links... Not sure i can do it.
But that said, i am ok like this too. Independent. I think its important to say what i really think without influence of sponsorship (although affiliate links arent necessary a sponsorship)
Anyway, thanks again for support and suggestions... I will try to do the patreon. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🍺😀
      Cheers
      Vladimir

Yet another fly added to my list. Nicely done, as always. Luckily I have all the materials for it. I hope you have a way of making money off your TH-cam videos. For example, I'll be tying your Klinkhamer flies. In order to do that I bought the hooks, the pink para post material, and the tan ice dub. If it weren't for your video, I probably wouldn't have. I also bought The Feather Mechanic book, which by the way is informative and enjoyable ( reading the Mechanics section now ). There must be a way for you to make some money pointing people to the materials and gear you use... ( For example, I'd be interested in that blue brush you used in this video to apply resin. ) The guy behind Trippin on Trout makes some money via Patreon.
One more thing. I like to secure the bead on my jig hook by using a drop of Super Glue above the eye. I learned this trick by watching a Fulling Mill video. It seems to help tying the rest of the fly. The loose bead probably bothers you as it bothers me.

Thanks for all those suggestions. I suppose there is a way of doing so, but for now i dont need to look for people to make deals to have affiliate links, i also dont want to monetise channel for now. My idea is to keep it as clean from any influence as possible. Thats one of the reasons i dont approve sponsorships... Afterwards you are limited what you can say and use publicly...
Blue brush is some brush dentists are using. I got it from a friend.
Patreon is a possible option but again, i will wait because i need to set up a bank account and from china its impossible. So untill i get back to Serbia i will probably keep it as it is..
But all suggestions are very welcomed.... And i believe will be useful in future 😃😃🥃🥃🥃

@@Oholisfliesandfishing I understand your reasons and my hat off to you. If and when you get on Patreon, I'll sign up to be a supporter of yours. So far Trippin on Trout is the only one I do that for. He's a guide who does fishing videos from New Zealand. I really like what he does and the quality of his videos.
Today I'll start tying one of your Perdigons. Never tied one of those before, so it should be interesting.

@@Oholisfliesandfishing Hi Vladimir. I tied about half a dozen of those flies to experiment with them. Some came out looking similarly to what you've tied. I'll probably need some practice with materials and how to create the smooth body seen in your ties. Some of the experimentation has to do with colors. For example, I used the Sulky Opalescent with a black thread underneath. The end result was a blueish body. But if you looked at it from a different angle, it looked greenish. Quite beautiful effect, according to my wife. Not sure why the fish would be interested in it though...
What I'm shaky on is what color(s) might work on the streams I'll be fishing in the Summer as I have no experience fishing with Perdigon flies. I'll probably stop at Slide Inn and talk to Kelly Galloup. He told me last Summer that interest in these type of flies exploded the last couple of years. When he orders them in, people snap them all up.
On a different topic, I came across this video on TH-cam:
The Feather Mechanic Ties the Para Rab ( th-cam.com/video/7CLTVUSFNBc/w-d-xo.html )

@@schmoonkie for the looks its all about practice. It will come soon to you.
      Colour you should experiment.
Black body with 1/3 red tinsel is the best. The one you mentioned your wife loves, fish on sunny days love it too... Make it with silver beads. Its attractor with perdigon nymphs. Of course you can tie very imitative patterns too.
Yes, link is Gordon tying. Love that fly.

    Hi Vladi
I ask you something about the peacock quill that drives me crazy. I observe in this video, and in others, that the stripped quill usually has two bands, or colors, more or less defined. One lighter and the other somewhat darker or greyish. The thing is, I have quite a bit of peacock herl and when stripping it to get the quill, they don't have those defined colors. On the contrary, it is usually a darker or brownish color and with barely defined bands. My question or doubt is: is it normal or is it possible that the quill after a long time becomes darker and loses that two-color contrast? I have a lot of herl and have tried the different parts, the eye, etc, and the color is faded. Thanks.

    • @Oholisfliesandfishing
      @Oholisfliesandfishing  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Its all different from one bird to another. That's the reason i buy these. Plus its boring to strip quills.
And quills are only good from the eye... Lower ones never have the same contrast. But some good flies can be made with them too. Or ribbing for some flies... Of course it needs to be protected

@@jorgemerino4709 they are quite good. But, sometimes some quills dont get varnish well as if they were greasy.... Not sure.
