I’ve thought about it a while and the best way to setup a minimal filtration system like that is with a media basket design. Pump goes on the bottom but still has the return at the top. Then a media basket with a solid wall on the piping side goes in, so the flow is directed down towards the pump. You can also run a heater in that area where the return pipe is. I’m telling yah I’ve thought about it a while. I have a few sketches scribbled somewhere lol
Hi March, How about splitting the outlet of the pump into two, so one is "low" (like you have it now), to give good ability to blow around detritus for filter capture, but the other is higher, just under the surface, to give surface agitation/good gas exchange (and probably some "random" flow elements when mixing with the lower return)? Could be different diameters, so that there's some built-in flow reduction to ensure water comes out of both, or add in a couple of screws to block the pipe(s), for user-defined flow... Love the idea of diving videos. Cheers, Rich.
You have probably researched it when designing the small AIO but if you haven't check the company Juwel as some of their Tanks come with a similar design but for fresh water. Could give some ideas of how to run a heater and pump.
Just a suggestion make the chamber a little bigger and make the corner flat so can put the pump outlet higher so you can make a filter media tray that fits inside the chamber in between the pump hose. But don’t have it too close to the pump
@@fragboxcoralsThen I have to look for the places you have already filmed. I've been watching your channel since the Tunze and White Corals videos and have watched many of your other videos since then
PLEASE come out with nano tanks with just that little area for filtration, I've had that idea in my head for like a year I think that would change the game all I need to run my nano tank anyway is filter floss, a little media, heater, light, ATO.
Hi March, I am planning to get a reef Casa studio 12 as my first tank. I am going to buy it from aac (since I live in the uk)and I was looking for your stand in the aac website and I could find it. If I was to get it from the direct reef casa website it would cost $200 for tax and $150 for shipping, so if you could send some to acc it would be really appreciated Thanks
Please go to Just Corals in Belgium. I lot of fans would like to meet you guys! Ther is also a lot of belgian beer 😛
In france there's a large seahorse breeding facility with a crazy outdoor zooplankton production : Ecurie Marine Esnandes

That’s weird! I use the whole back of my Flat 6! I have a nano skimmer, biobricks, and tons of filter floss. Guess I filter heavy compared to others!
We will only offer this style of filter on one model
