Pablo said he released Laon (in time) immediately because he realized how heavy Alon (wave) was and he didnt want his fans to be in a chronic heavy state.
Hi, AJ & Tanya! For some background about KUMUNOY (which is my favorite solo song by Pablo): Pablo wrote KUMUNOY during his days as a trainee in ShowBT. (I'm assuming you know a bit of SB19's history before they debuted in October 2018.) This was at a point before Justin and Ken had joined, but Pablo, Stell and Josh had already been training for a couple of years, without seeing any concrete "success". For a combination of reasons, all of the remaining trainees had quit or been eliminated -- that is, everyone except Stell, who stayed because he knew that performing (even just training to become a performer) gave him happiness. Pablo says this was one of his lowest points, and it was then that he composed Kumunoy. (Pablo said that his songs serve like diaries, recording moments of his life). Pablo eventually found it in himself to return, and Josh came back too. Both of them also realized that if Stell had the faith to pursue their dream, to strive for what made them happy, then they should have faith too. Together they helped each other through -- believing in each other, leaning on each other, pulling each other up during times one of them would be down. At the premiere of Pablo's UNA short film the other day, he introduced KUMUNOY saying that he never forgets to celebrate where he and SB19 are now -- thanks to A'TIN -- because he is no longer in that quicksand.
pablo is just one hell of a song writer...that is why of all the members of sb19 he is my bias coz he got everything and it's just right in the palm of his hands. that is also why he was also respected by his co members...😊
This is one of his unreleased song before. The most recent he sang this before it was officially released was in LA during their US tour just last year. A fan posted it with subs. That was my first time to hear it became a favorite instantly. But years ago when he sang it in their concert he cried and wasn't able to finish it. But this new version is very much hopeful
Tnx for your input /insights regarding the songs and performances of Pablo and brod Josue.. I can feel the heaviness and tension the songs bring out within us.. and yet it brings hope in the end…they are 2 of the most amazing and prolific young artists of OPM industry.. ❤
My no. 1 is kumunoy, no. 2 the boy who cried wolf, and 3. kelan in the Alon album. Pablo n Josue really knows how to make songs that are relatable. N for some people who struggle with the hard things in life. It's a really good thing to hear music like this that makes you feel that you are not alone and so it can help with the healing process to know that someone in this world knows what you're struggling with
Pablo's songs are a reflection of his inner turmoil. But maybe you have also noticed that, always, always, the songs end up with positive messages like hope. There is always hope!
These songs really helped me during some of my darkest times. It helped me process my own feelings, know that I wasn't alone, and that there was hope. Y'all were right that Pablo always puts a sprinkle hope even in these sad songs-- not escapist positivity, but more like, "I'm not okay but I will be". And that's so powerful and helped me in those dark times. Thank you for this RV! I love the mix of music appreciation and deep yet concise conversation.
If you will have a chance i encourage you to watch the Interview of Pablo during the premier night of his UNA short film. He sang Kumunoy there and after singing the song he said when & why he wrote the song. And he also said when he finally get out of the quicksand
Hi AJ, there is hope. As Pablo said in the Boy Who Cried Wolf, we are not alone in our experiences no matter how much our minds convince us that we are. Dalawa na tayo (there's 2 of us now) "two" being symbolic of not being alone, not necessarily limited to just 2. there's more of us and that alone sometimes gives us solace that surely we'll get past whatever feelings or situations we are in now❤ life is not always 🌈 and 🦋 and sometimes it feels like an endless darkness ⚫. Pablo's testimonies thru his songs is an encouragement that there is hope and there is light at the end of it ❤❤❤
I love Kelan too due to its deep hopeful lyrics, the rap parts of Pablo and Josue are so catchy.Kumunoy may be sad but still shows hope in the end❤.I love how genius is Pablo🎉
Kumunoy and Kelan are my #1&2 for Alon In Kumunoy, notice that the cadence is the beat/timing of how one cries, same with the vocalization/scattering (ba ba ba ba). In Filipino, baBA means down and BAba means chin, while in Arabic BAba means father. Filipino language is standardized Tagalog with loan words from Sanskrit/Indian, Malay, Chinese, America-English, and Arabic. Filipino languages uses the short sound vowels ah-eh-ii-oh-uu
These unreleased songs are 🔥 and A'tin have waited for sooooo long for Pablo to officially release these. We know these existed and just basically waited for the world to know the Genius that he is, with his brother.....Akala, Determinado, Kumunoy, Kelan, Wala, Drowning in the Water, and who knows which ones in his albums were written yrs ago along with these and what else he hasn't released yet. Pablo's brain 🤯
You may want to check out Pablo's BEHIND THE SONG: {song title} videos. He briefly talks about each of his ALON and LAON songs. The ALON songs now have English captions. The LAON BTS none yet, the last time I checked.
According to Pablo, LAON means Waves, not waving hands but "Challenges in life" and "LAON", in English "IN TIME" (means after challenges..) so you can expect upbeats songs in LAON..
Love Kelan, the lyrics, the musical instruments used and the superb effect of the blend of the two voices though similar yet distinct. My favourite performance is of them,a few years ago, dancing and singing barefooted. Very relatable

Kumunoy is one of my favorites. I am not depressed nor sad but I like the song, the beat and melody.
