Heya! First up thanks for all the lovely birthday messages. Honestly social media can be quite isolating at times, especially being stuck inside working through a long edit, so to have lovely comments and know these videos can help people navigate their newsfeeds a bit better really makes that feel worth it. Secondly, and why I arrived here, is to say that if anyone wants to read more about any of these stories/get the sources, I post them alongside every video on my Patreon (free for non-Patreons too). I usually put this in the description of the video but I feel like it's easier to find here maybe? Anyway hope you all have a great week if you're here reading this! www.patreon.com/posts/new-youtube-good-116947921?Link&
Hi! I've just found your channel, I think it's wonderful that you share good news, it's very needed nowadays. I have a request, could you provide a list of those news stories in the descriptions of your videos in the future? Sources would be even better, but just a list is what I need. I would like to tell people about it, but I struggle to remember every news you've mentioned in the video. It would help if I had a list to remind myself.
bonus good news: Planet Wild helped drop marble statues off the coast of Italy to disrupt and deter illegal deep sea mining. this video reminded me i should look into donating to them for Christmas. thanks Sam!
Other positive news from November: - Denmark will be the first country in the world with a climate tax on biological processes in agriculture - Electric vehicle batteries find second life powering rural businesses - Cranberry bog restoration reshapes coastal defenses Also happy birthday
@@Marc42 Yes... if you look at it from the perspective of the climate and the local environment. For a country producing food for three times its population and only having 13% of its landmass covered by forest, it is vital for biodiversity that more forests will be reimbursed from less fertile land (same agreement as the taxes). Also, the taxes will first come into effect in 2030(a few in 2028) so the industry has time to adapt to the new changes. Not to mention that it's a 3-party-agreement where the relevant groups have agreed.

November has been an overwhelming month for me, and not just because of the election. Thank you for reminding me that even though the world seems really grim right now, there are people trying to make it a better place. :}
I’m so glad that the internet has little pockets of hope in it. This channel always brightens my day and gives me access to good news that I wouldn’t have seen otherwise. Thank you Sam for all you do, and I wish you a very happy birthday! 🎉🎂🎈🎊🎁
1:36 While these pod traspots do look really neat, the better solution for congestion like this is almost always to make better public transit. Electrify the fleet, expand service, add express bus lanes, and generally make it a more convenient option to driving, and that gets people out of cars and into more efficient mass transit. single or small capacity pods are cool and all, but they are very inefficient.
@@InvaderCom Queenstown is small and mainly a tourist town with lots of mountains and already has cable car infrastructure (for the skiing). The context is important here because it's far cheaper to make more cable cars than to develop an entire train system.
Hearing about including indigenous voices in biodiversity preservation, destroying PFAS, and real headway on renewable fuel... this makes my heart sing. TYSM Sam
Whenever I'm feeling down about the state of the world, this channel always keeps my sanity in tact. Thank you for sharing news stories that tend to get overlooked by mainstream press.
I'm from Washington State and a Native American who has been involved in Save the Salmon, Restoring Wolf populations and other wildlife preservation projects. The news about indigenous voices and our states recent protection of our "Climate Protection Act" just made my day!! Yer the best Sam!! I shared your channel on Facebook and all your viewers will work to expand your audience!! Thank you again!!
In a science class I had in the past, we designed a sustainable society. I had the idea to make the main method of transportation (in addition to bicycles) a zipline/gondola system, like you showed in the video! Seeing that idea actually coming to life put a big smile on my face. Happy birthday Sam and thanks for all you do!!
You deserve a trophy for supplying all of us with these high vibration videos full of kindness and respect for each other and our planet and all the beautiful wild and domestic life that inhabits our heaven on Earth. An hour full of good people being good people. So refreshing and rejuvenating! Thank you!
Happy birthday Sam! You should be so proud of the work you are doing. For me personally it really helps on days when I'm struggling with depression. It also motivates me to join groups that have a positive impact on the world around me.
Can people share your videos more? I genuinely needed this after that stupid election. Good news is so needed right now, and I’m so glad I subscribed to this channel. For the next four years, this is gonna be my comfort channel. Thank you. ❤
Halfway through the video, I felt tears run down my face. I had a truly horrible month where I kind of tried to make peace with the world ending. Hell, I was even watching youtube "bushcraft survival tips" at some point. But this video made me think "what if we can actually solve these ridiculously hard issues? What if?". I think this hope will keep me going for a while.
Someone needs to explain how that gondola network is more efficient than just... Building a light rail system. Or dedicated bus lanes. Or... Pretty much any and every mass transit system.
I believe London has one, not very successful. They don’t move many folk. In mountainous cities they do work, I understand there is at least one in the Andes.

Happy birthday! I turned 69 on November 6th (it wasn't very happy because I was hoping for a different outcome for the USA elections). Thanks for the good news! 😊
I have said it once and I'll say it again that the decade we're in is dull because it is a mix of darkness (e.g. a frivolous lawsuit, potential monopoly, AI, etc.) and brightness (e.g. The Hague banning fossil fuel ads, Danish men's football club refusing a pay rise to keep things equal for both them and women, UK closing its last coal plant, etc.) but nowadays that brightness gets overshadowed by the darkness so easily that it has become really hard to convince some people that we live in a positive decade as well. You're one of the people who keeps on remind us that the future will be positive no matter what so I'll thank you for your optimistic journalism, Sam. :)
I'd like to imagine that you ate every slice off-camera during each news segment. How else can such a sweet personality be fuelled if not with sugary goodness? Anyway, Happy Birthday and thank you for making our days brighter with these good news :)
Learning about the Global South renewable energy milestone almost made me cry. Thanks so much for this good news after watching too many videos about how much the world can suck this week. The world constantly reminds me that it’s amazing and hopeful too 💕
This is the first video I’ve come across of yours and I have to say happy birthday(mine is also this month) and I love what you’re doing here, this was over all very lovely and a nice little bright spot that made my day better. I’d also like to give some feedback that you may want to be a bit more choosy when sharing news about private for profit companies coming up with “solutions” to problems because while over all this video was fantastic the Whoosh private multi directional gondola service is very bad news in my book. To me this sounds like the sort of thing that’s going to promise low prices early on to get their private infrastructure built but once it’s up there will be nothing to stop them from rising prices and creating a literal upper class lower class division in transport and in the early days while prices are cheap it’s going to compete with public transit and maybe even reduce public transit services because of lower ridership which will only hurt the people who need it most. Again over all I think you’re doing good work and the rest of the video was lovely.

That's not much different to some existing materials.
