    I hear ya. some places I luck out but not often. I just never had luck just using a WFP alone. To save water I got a tap connect to work the crud and switch valve over to pure. I do that mainly because I save on DI resin and RO use. The Hudson is tapped into line to supply my cleaning mix. On demand so if tap is closed, no solution fed thru line.
    like you said, selling home so most folks don't want perfect. they know there are things that won't come off easily and most folks buying don't seem to care unless the seals are bad or pane is damaged. Even my builder tells me don't bother on a touch up they sold. Did a never cleaned in 12 year home. I am trying to nitpick and this old lady was don't bother with that, they are old, but OMG what a difference. she was tickled pink.

    I never had luck with just wfp on bad glass. Okay finish but some things wfp cannot get off. I like that you are showing the pressure on off sort or circular motion. Not many people show techniques other than the sad back forth up and down. I always have inside access so I usually can hit the tops from the inside first then pole. If need to scrape then I can feel better about nose to glass rather than blade from a pole. I find that technique with the nlite works well. Spray bar on mine but do love the unger jets.

      +Jack Jackllfixit Thanks for the comment. Yes it's the end of the tips that clean, so altering pressure is key for better cut. If we were going to up charge them for restoration, we'd be most likely using one restore and or razoring. The customer was selling the house and wasn't worried about a perfect finish. I figured I'd use this opportunity to show that WFP can cut though bad windows. Some guys say you can never use a WFP for a first time clean. We also could do, this much faster, but we're just explaining rather than showing speed. I really need to do another video to show the speed of a first time clean, and the speed of a clean we do every 3 to 6 months.

    there is a chemical available in the uk but i don't know if you can get it in the states called ubik2000
    it is an extremely strong degreaser and cleaner that comes in 5l bottles but needs diluting to about 10:1 so lasts forever
    couple of sprays on your brush for high windows or on the glass for bottom ones and the frames and glass come up spotless in seconds
    i do all filthy jobs with this

    • @MichaelGoeller
      @MichaelGoeller  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +David Budden I have many other methods to do this faster... this was to prove that WFP can do a good job even on very dirty windows. It wasn't about speed. Thank you for your advice though.

      +Michael Goeller i agree wfp is great for 1 offs and first time cleans
      i was a traditional window cleaner for 25 years then switched to wfp a couple years ago after working with a friend who used it
      i would never do a 1st clean traditionally now as wfp is so much better
      we have smaller houses here but i can clean a whole 3 bedroom semi detached house in under 10 minutes with no effort on my regular cleans (we clean monthly and 2 monthly on average here in the uk)

      John Winters pure water behaves like soap, in the sense it is hungry. water is one of the best solvents on Earth. All soap does is allow water to grab the dirt. when the water is pure it will grab and retain the dirt just like soap. The science behind it is fascinating.
      all you are doing when you clean a window is taking the dirt from the window suspending it in solution then removing the dirty solution. this is the same whether you are squeegeeing, using pure water or a rag with a window cleaner on it.

    Rather than getting on a ladder to use the steel wool some people take a little steel wool and run it around a smaller strip washer, stick it on a pole and rub the area. Presumably at that point, they will need to rinse it off again with the WFP.

    • @MichaelGoeller
      @MichaelGoeller  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Georgia Hunter Yes that is a viable method. We actually do a two step method, using one restore and white pad, ahead of the WFP. This video wasn't about the fastest way to get these super dirty windows clean this was to show that WFP can cut it even on very dirty windows, and will do the same job as traditional.

      +Michael Goeller You would know better than me. I haven't got my system up and running yet. Got a Gardiner Xtreme 25 and a DI tank. (PPM is around 50+/-) Just trying to figure out the connections still. Seems most people use 1/4 air hose from the DI to WFP. I just haven't figured how to do that locally just yet. Home Depot doesn't seem to have a lot of what I feel I need. I wish someone would do a video of the specific connections they used to go from DI tank to feed line to WFP. hint hint
      BTW to all the haters, if you say you can position and climb a ladder, scrub all those nasty windows, wipe the frames, brush out the spider webs and dead bugs and clean the sills in less than four minutes (as this guy did) there is a word for you. Liar!!! Good job. Ignore the haters.

      derick blackwell this system has a small battery shureflo pump with a analog pump controller. You don't need a delivery pump if you are producing on demand.

    Why do you prefer the pole hose hanging outside the pole doesn't it catch up on things ?

    • @MichaelGoeller
      @MichaelGoeller  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      *I have a sold my business*..
      But, running the hose on the outside actually helped with several things.
      1. It allowed for easier storage of the poles and hoses in the van/truck. Keeping things neater. Also allowing faster wrap up.
      2. We use extensions on the bottom often. Running on the outside allows to hook up a 6-11 foot adjustable extension as needed. We could add up to 3. Something that would be very time consuming with the hose inside.
      3. After running hose inside for years, I found that less dirt gets into the pole, creating less wear on expensive carbon fiber poles. It also keeps the poles sliding easy and locking well when dirt hasn't worn them
      4. Actually gets caught less, and is less of a tripping hazard. I know this sounds wrong, but by keeping the hose in front of you, you guide it and trip over it less.
      This video doesn't show the technique at all.. what you do after you extend the pole (hold on to the hose in your hand at the bottom) give the pole a spin and the line wraps around the pole. The hose ends up just in front of your hands.
      I was in the other camp for a long time but after touring with Perry Tait, realized the many advantages. Like I said this video the hose is just flopping. That is because the person running the camera was running the pole previous. He had never worked with the hose on the outside, and I didn't correct it.

    Waterfed cleaning takes too long. No matter how much agitation you will get dirty drips. The only way to get perfect windows no drip is to wash top frame rinse and then let dry for 15 minutes to 30 and then come back making sure to not get top wet. Squeegee much faster. I only use waterfed to clean frame and pre rinse

    • @MichaelGoeller
      @MichaelGoeller  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I guess the perfect results I've been getting for the last 7 years is all in my head. On average a double hung takes about a minute and 20 seconds. You are telling me that you can set a ladder climb it mop and squeegee and come back down in less time than that? We get perfect results. This video is old and was only meant to show that even hardwater stained, screen burned windows can be scrubbed and turn out the same as a squeegee and mop. These were not normal windows. Metal screens and haven't been cleaned in 10 years.
      If you are getting drips than that means your pressure is too high and you are getting bounce back, Or you are hitting the frames through bad technique, Or you don't know how to use the top of the brush to protect the frame and wipe drips. The idea is not to touch the frames, only the glass.

    • @jackomalley3687
      @jackomalley3687 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MichaelGoeller most customers would love to have their frames cleaned and by cleaning the frames windows will stay cleaner longer. Yes I agree if you don't get the frames wet yes waterfed can work great but windows especially in the corners will need to be bronze wooled so waterfed only works on properly maintained windiws

    • @MichaelGoeller
      @MichaelGoeller  8 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      +nsmcgirt Took as long as the one traditional we did next to it. They were very stained with hard water and screen burn.
      The fast way is to hit with one restore first then wash. The point of the video wasn't about speed but to show it would cut as well as traditional. Traditional actually took a few seconds longer.
      Normally we can clean a window somewhere between 19 seconds and 40 seconds depending on how many agitations are needed.
      We moved to the constructor brush which has far more bristles in a better pattern. We are regularly hitting 20 -25 seconds a window even on first time cleans. I'll have to film a new video and post it, to show.
      The purpose of this video was just to show that wfp can cut as well as traditional.
