Hey good people! The Marienburg Human Mercenary Warband is done! I went well out of my comfort zone with kitbashing and painting the patterns on the heroes! It was a lot of work but I am really happy with the end result! What do YOU think? Which Mordheim Warband should I cover next? Please tell me in the comments down below! Stay safe and lots of love to you all! 👍💙💛💙
The GW Empire kits he referred to are indeed out of print, but a good substitute for renaissance-looking zweihanders, crossbows, etc can be found in Warlord's Pike and Shot Landsknecht range. They're quite a bit cheaper too. I used them fro the 2H sword guys, sword+buckler, halbeard, and crossbow troops. They can also do spear/pike or handgunners. The Marienburgers are my first Mordheim warband.
Hi Leif, excellent video as always! I agree with the Frostgrave kits. For my nephew, I built a Battle Monks of Cathay team using the Frostgrave pirates and soldiers. I thought the pirates with the flowing pants worked well for the monks and I used WGA's Cannon Fodder (2): Females' arms with the rope and hook to be the monk's fish-hook shot. The fish-hook shot has a 3" range and causes knockdown allowing the peasant screen in front of them to take out much larger enemies than they should. :) Also, Fireforge has a Freefolk kit that works great for peasants!
Its always a special day when a Devs and Dice Mordheim video drops! I've been writing a Mordheim campaign book for my gaming group back in Scotland (complete with new warbands and scenarios of my own creation) and whenever I start to flag, I just watch one of your Mordheim videos to get that passion fired back up! Your Marienburg warband looks stunning. I like the Idea using the Blood Bowl team miniatures. The body of Your mercenary Captain looks exactly like one I'm looking for my Frostrave warband. Thank You very much for this inspiration. I also like Your kitbashing of the swords, this is also a great idea.
Leif your passion and talents are amazing. You single-handedly reinvigorated my passion and joy for miniatures after nearly a decade of them being packed away. Keep up the good work, I look forward to your next video!

I dont want to see AI images in your videos. This is a crafting channel - why steal from other creators like that?? I dont want to unsub, but i will if this continues
@@velentr ai images are created by scraping a database of images without people's legal permission and cobbling it back together - not only theft, but making the resulting theft un-credited. (not to mention, ofc, the professional art landscape and how they are already being screwed over, and how generating images only feeds the machine)
@@emberwickart Thank you for elucidating- how can you tell that the images used are AI generated? As in; can you provide quantifiable and verifiable proof to back up said claim?
@@velentr I am a professional illustrator (i show up if you search me) - a few images found in the video have classic signs of ai imagery (blurry pupils, incomplete generation of faces/hands/etc) that undenyably have textbook ai generation artifacts found in all ai images while i could spend my time to break down every instance in the video, It is pretty obvious, Devs&Dice knows they used ai images, and my stance on the matter.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the subject and I try now-a-days to use as much artwork as possible from Warhammer books and such. I did use AI for some images specifically because I didn't find anyone online. Also, not sure this needs clarification but Devs & Dice is not a "they" i.e. plural, it is just plain old me! I wish I could pay for artwork but that is not an option for me since I am a small channel that just do this as a hobby. Noticed on the Mordheim map there is the Great Library of Mordheim. Do you think you could make that?
It could very well be a viable option for sure! 👍😅
Loving S(te)ven Seagal!
Hahahahahaha! Yeah I mean he is a cult classic for sure! 👍😂
I would love to know your thoughts on a Skaven Warband!
They are in the plans! Will get to them soon enough! 👍😅
Take your time! Very much looking forward to it!
👌👌👌
Thank you so much! 👍😊
I dont want to see AI images in your videos. This is a crafting channel - why steal from other creators like that?? I dont want to unsub, but i will if this continues
_"Why steal from other creators?"_
Would you kindly expand on that assertion?
@@velentr ai images are created by scraping a database of images without people's legal permission and cobbling it back together - not only theft, but making the resulting theft un-credited. (not to mention, ofc, the professional art landscape and how they are already being screwed over, and how generating images only feeds the machine)
@@emberwickart Thank you for elucidating-
how can you tell that the images used are AI generated?
As in; can you provide quantifiable and verifiable proof to back up said claim?
@@velentr I am a professional illustrator (i show up if you search me) - a few images found in the video have classic signs of ai imagery (blurry pupils, incomplete generation of faces/hands/etc) that undenyably have textbook ai generation artifacts found in all ai images
while i could spend my time to break down every instance in the video, It is pretty obvious, Devs&Dice knows they used ai images, and my stance on the matter.
That being said, I do in general agree with you and like I said, now-a-days I try as much as possible to avoid using it. A lot of images come from scanning my old WHFRP 2nd Edition books actually! 👍😂
