I always hated the fact that you lose the entirety of the weapons that you collected throughout the game in this final mission, but well, at least in the end they give you the money to buy them again
If you’re like me and you don’t like having a bat, this allows you to lose it without being arrested!
As someone who’s 100%’d this I ran back to the shoreside house with four minutes to spare and had all of my weapons

i used a tank and i was able to finish the game without the rocket launcher and without the sniper
I tried doing this like 15 times but finally with the sniper and launcher it took me one try lol

That one-punch scene was the most epic and badass moment of Claude. It showed the amount of rage Claude stored for Catalina throughout the story. Since he can't speak, he answered Catalina's question with his action. And this is the only mission where Claude listened to himself. Because throughout the story, he just took orders without speaking a single word. Since he wanted to take revenge and now the time came.
The iconic shot, ended the 3D GTA franchise era.

Salvatore would be happy to get rid of Maria, he didn’t give a damn about her affair. She had many affairs and he knew about it. And he cheated on her with other young girls too.
Maria deserved so much better. Poor girl… if only she have just never met Salvatore, her life could be much better. But the fate decided otherwise. Maria was a lamb befriended with wolves whom were Salvatore, Toni, Wayne and maybe even Claude.

It's weird how the first game describes the final events in the 3D universe. I kind of wish we had more games that took place after. Would be great to see where Claude, CJ, and Tommy are at. Would have been even cooler to have a game where you play as all 3 (even if tommy at the time would be super old). Wouldn't even matter if they got different voice actors either

If we are not talking about just GTA then Technically speaking, GTA 3 wasn't the last 3d generation game. We had games like manhunt, bully and manhunt 2 after the events of GTA 3 meaning manhunt 2 is the last one to close up the whole 3d universe thing. It's pretty cool to know all those games have connections to the GTA games.

Man, this was tough! This was literally the closest encounter ever: Things were going pretty well until halfway through the dam. I brought Catalina's chopper down, but had to get the rest of the grunts. But before I could get upstairs to Maria, I ran out of bullets, then I was running low on health. I think I was at less than 30 health but had no way to fight the grunts around Maria. So I just ran through and got to Maria...WITH 15 HP LEFT!

@@theelitegrinder4338 yeah hearing the mission complete jingles was the most satisfying things in older GTAs, especially in 4 since you never knew which variation to expect. In 5 it’s just boring and not special at all
GTA 5 was meant to have separate mission complete sounds for each protagonist but they later cut it. You can find them on TH-cam and can probably mod them in the game.

That barracks truck killed me all the time in my first few attempts. I used the m16 to destroy both trucks before the grunts got in it to run me over.

What likes her about gta 3 is that Claude is ready to do anything to find her (Kill the mafia boss, declare war between the Yakuza / Cartel)
Interesting fact: Catalina has two models in this version. She has hanging bangs in the intro and the usual smoothed hair in the finale
Every (or some) video games do have that, character models in the in-game cutscenes are different and detailed than the in-game playthrough.

Here’s the thing, I doubt Claude shot Maria. Otherwise, he would’ve just went in with guns out or sniped Catalina already without thinking about the repercussions of one of the Cartel members killing Maria. Or hell, he could’ve completely ignored the ransom note and await another opportunity of taking out Catalina, but the note and $$$ did bring Catalina out and Claude took his shot. Literally.

Tbh I find it a bit odd they didn't atleast add a physical helicopter like they did in LCS and VCS. The helicopters of GTA 3 always looked funny to me.
It would've been cool if they added a flyable helicopter, plane in the game, I wish they also added the bike from VC

I'm actually in pain at how easily you completed this. It took me close to 20 attempts and I was about 15 in when I noticed the sniper. If only I knew there was a rocket launcher on the way!

@@MikeJohnMentzer I did that when completing Max Payne and it was a life saver! But I was streaming when playing this game and didn't think it would be best streaming material to pause after every mission and watch a video haha! Kind of wish i did though for this one!
Easier in definitive edition due to better controls.
Bruh I had zero guns except the sniper and then the m16s that the grunts drop. I legit had to sprint towards every dead grunt just to have enough ammo for this entire mission 😂
Some of the preceding missions were a lot harder (Kingdom Come, Espresso 2 Go, S.A.M.).
Just be well-prepared and you’ll get through.
Haven’t played the game since 2001 when I was 13 years old. Just played it again now that it’s part of Netflix games and free on your phone. What a great game! One of my favorite of all time.

Got the GTA definitive edition for the Switch & im finishing the games in order & totally forgot how tough GTA 3 is, especially the last 4-5 missions. The more I played the missions the more it started to come back to me how to complete some of the harder missions.

You could say that Claude was just using everyone to get closer to Catalina for revenge like how Dimitri would use people to get what he wants but then betray them as soon as he gets the chance due to having no loyalty. Claude was pretty similar since he isn’t really loyal to anyone unless they pay him although he was with Catalina for 9 years so maybe it was out of loyalty or it could’ve been because he was making money with her and their “relationship” was more business than genuine

He was just a pawn for these scumbags benefit and even the fall guy when things didn’t work out. Yes he had a goal but it wasn’t for power or greed, it was simply revenge because he had trusted someone he was in love with for 10 years. Same cannot be said for Dimitri and in fact is the opposite, definitely for power and greed. He puts on a fake facade so he can easily manipulate those to do what he wants and they fall for it by pretending to be their friend, giving them a false sense of security and once they are out of his use only then he shows his true colours of how a backstabbing snake he is. If he is similar to anyone, it would be the employers I mentioned above. Also if Claude was simply with Catalina only for money, why didn’t he betray her? He could have easily ditched her to push spank for the Colombians himself? Since you’re saying he uses everyone?

Look up the world records for this game w/ no major glitches there are ppl who beat the whole story minus some side missions like Kenjis who are all optional in less than 2 hrs

It's dark throughout the entire game, it suddenly ends, everything ends well, pleasant music plays, as if the sun had finally appeared over Liberty City. Love it ❤
Note the fact that Catalina Vialpando voice is a little deep in the intro after she shoot Claude and now at the final mission Her voice is much high
If you collected all 100 hidden packages you can just drive to your safehouse and get all your weapons back makes the final mission hella easy

I had all hidden packages, went to my safe house, got my weapons and finished this mission first try in less than 5 minutes 😂

completed after 1 hour, insane mission
Instead of searching the yards for a limited amount of ammunition just make a quick trip down the hill to your safehouse and get all of your weapons and armour. Then head back up and take a shortcut through the most western yard, and you’re near the barricade.
Your rocket launcher and sniper gun will be your best friends.
Make sure you hit the trucks before you hit the helicopter!
Also, make sure your health and armour are 100% before starting the mission.
Wow I just got to this last night and turned it off forgetting it’s the last mission 😢.. so many good memories playing gta 3- san andreas

Also what could’ve ended this scene is when Maria gets shot it turns out that it was a sniper shot that was meant to hit Claude. But instead it kills Maria and it makes Claude realize that Maria was the only women he truly loved. He never had true love with Catalina. And Maria was more heart than enjoying the years under Catalina. And Maria as stupid as she is, she warned Claude of betrayal from her mob boss of a husband. Truly Claude would really have emotions and maybe this is why he wanted Asuka to be serious about keeping Maria alive despite pretending being her friend to get Leone mafia criminal information for the Yakuza to levy over. Claude mourns on the death of Maria and decides to leave Liberty considering that there’s gangs who has given Claude a target behind his back and needs to lay low and find out who was responsible for killing Maria and the directions to Upstate would start his part 2 journey towards building his criminal myth and legend.
Maria is no fool. She only pretends as stupid, but she’s no fool. And her actions mostly impulsive, rebellious and provocative.
Tip for anyone, at some point the corrupt cop gives you a bullet proof vehicle for completing his last mission.
If you keep it in a garage for this mission you can drive through the goons on the Dam and park by the steps to the helicopter.
Unfortunately you can't keep it after the mission if you brought it out of that garage. You could however get up to TWO Cheetahs from El Burro's Turismo mission, or use the crane and Taxi Driver side mission glitch to add various immunities.

There’s another way to beat this mission: You need to collect all hidden packed over 1 to 100, if you got them all, Get a super-car like Banshee,Cheetah and Infernus and drive to the final mission, after the 1st scene ended run straight quickly to the garage near by the cartel mansion and get the cartel Cruiser and drive straight to the gate and leave the Cartel cruiser and get your super car back outside the mansion.
Drive quickly to Wichita gardens and go to your hideout nearby it and get all weapons you got from all the hidden packages, you have more time to take those weapons infront of your hideout in Wichita gardens, After you get all weapons drive quickly to Chrocane Dam and fire a single rocket launcher to the Colombians where they’re guarding the entrance, and start sniping the Colombians with a sniper, destroy the truck 1st with a rocket launcher, you have enough Rocket ammos, then shot down catalina’s “Thing airborne” after that you can do whatever you want, You can rescue Maria from the cartels if you killed all the Colombians in the Chrocane Dam get near Maria and the mission ends

Seen a few guides of this mission, all of those including yours keep showing about the RPG on top of the roof but I've only ever managed to get on there once on another mission, can't seem to get up there again...maybe because its timed so I'm not focusing or jumping from the right point...anyway i skipped trying to get the RPG and just got the first gun you went to get...i don't know how i completely didn't think to go to the shed at the start where the car is and the armour...I've been running around like a madman trying to jack someone's car from outside, one tip i would give to anyone that just used the RPG that the game gives at the end... wait for the helicopter to come closer, don't try and shoot it from far away like i did ,glad i can put this game to bed now

Or you could do it the easy way. Drive down to your safehouse where all your hidden package weapons are, jump into the bulletproof patriot that Ray gave you, drive straight up to the stairs where Maria is, run up, shoot the guys and chopper on the roof and GAME OVER
bro when I got the patriot there was a ambulance and cop car that went into the garage and everything blew up and I couldn't get it back

for anyone who thinks he missed missions because he dont have 67 the same num as the videos numbers,its because s.a.m and ransom,luigi girl and give me liberty counts as 2 missions and not 4,which means when u complete all phone and missions you will have 65 missions done out of 73 and the rest is orher side missions.
