The charge of DuBoone (spelling?) had to be quite brave and impressive to see. Robert had to be quite sure of his skills. Nov I expect to be there in Nov this year. ❤
Battle of Bannockburn was clearly influenced by the battle of Golden Spurs in 1302 (Flemish pikemilitia defeating a professional army of French knights in a swampy terrain, close to the French garrison castle near the city of Courtrai) as that battle played out in similar circonstances and made name in the early 14th century. That and the close traderelations between Scots and Flemish at the time.
What these Anglo-centric versions of history always fail to mention is that Scotland was already an Independent Nation State, - Before England ever even existed. Look it up.
Excellent documentary 👏👏💯💯. Love watching it.
The brutality of the downed knight being dispatched is pretty wild. Can't imagine that scene.
The English army (actually a Norman army) was at least 25,000 and 2000 cavalry against 7000 Scots ❤

Wasn't it Edward Bruce who made the agreement with Philip Mowbray about Midsummer's Day...?

"The Exiled King"
I love Scots accent.
No mention of the atrocities committed by the sassenachs on the Scots across the ages. Wee squeamish presenter spoiled the show. Enactors were great!
