I just bought the Kadokura Malibu Nine second hand (the equivalent about £600 new on Amazon jp, but I paid just under £200) I’m waiting for it to arrive. I asked the maker if the anti tipper could be adjusted or removed. And in typical Japanese roundabout speaking fashion they were like, “It’s not that they can’t be removed or adjusted, but we really recommend that you don’t.” 😂
Good job. My wife and I found her rigid frame Quickie wheelchair at a pawnshop for 150 USD, it was barely used. She upgraded it with Spinergy wheels she found online for $100. It sold new for around 3000 USD. She has had orthopedic issues since an accident as a teenager.
@@SmallandStrong66 Thanks. Weve also found other rigid-frame chairs on Craigslist. Weve bought a few of them, reconditioned them and resold them to people who cant afford a new wheelchair or need a backup. We also keep our eyes open for parts wheels and tires (tyres if British) as we live in an area that gets lots of snow and knobbies are a necessity for getting around in the winter..
I have an argon 2 from wheelchair services, I'm assuming that you tried that route? Some areas allow them for ambulatory wheelchair users, I was more mobile when I got my first one, now have a bright pink one with volcanic wheels at the front. They're the flashing ones, my inner child loves it!
This was a great video very informational!! But do you think you could share the name of the seller you got your second wheelchair from it would be very helpful to me as I have been looking at second hand chairs for a little while 💗
Hi.. Alex here.. I just watched your WHATS MOTABILITY video then came to this one💪🏽 I’m a full time wheelchair user, I’ve got CP.. my daughter and me a BIG Hollyoaks fans! I recognised you straight away! 🤣 she didn’t 🤷🏽♂️🤣
@@SmallandStrong66 I’m a hardcore soaps fan.. they always do that dump up the age of the actors to play younger characters, for the dramatic an more mature storylines, I know! An it was a biggie you were in.. - will Freya be back at some point?? Nothing was touched upon after her mom was killed by Silas!!😱‼️.. BTW - I’ve got another YT channel where I share my Blu-ray collection and do movie reviews an chats! It’s my main channel.. A MIND FOR MOVIES with ALEXANDER WAYNE - jump over to that an check it out some time!👊🏽
Iv been a wheelchair user since I was 7 I have club foot I can walk a little but I’m 90% of the time in a wheelchair I have a quickie krypton R very expensive but I can’t recommend it enough
Hey there I wear oxygen for more than 10+ hours a day, have scoliosis and adolescent disc dysplasia, along with idiopathic pulmonary hemosiderosis, asthma, arthrogryposis multiplex congenita, how did you get fitted what was the process do you think the nhs will give me one even tho I can walk. I just have pains in my hips, feet and legs & back so trying to keep up with people is a struggle along with wearing oxygen
Are you able to buy a second hand smart drive or Smoov one for your wheelchair? I love my smart drive system and I highly recommend them. (They are quite expensive though)
@@SmallandStrong66 it is really expensive. I wish they were more affordable. Us wheelie people are already at a disadvantage but then they make stuff that we need overly expensive.
Had quickie... dissaster honestly... Uncomfy and very heavy.. asked for donations and I bought RGK octane sub 4... it's new life. im in wheelchair 24/7 so it's definitely different, but yeah.. quality of quickie is not even close to RGK
It depends on the model you get. I was told that I should get the quickie 2 and seriously hated it but I’ve seen newer different models that are amazing.
Great video! I’m also chronically ill and an ambulatory wheelchair user! It’s nice to see someone a similar age like me 💗

I think she said it was from a private seller on Ebay :)
Thanks for the great information
nicely explained about your wheelchair, make more videos about wheelchairs info.
Thank you, I’ve got a few ideas that will be coming soon!

That’s so funny! Not many people recognise me because Freya is 14 and I’m not so they don’t expect it!

I really want to and have been researching it for a while but the price has definitely put me off!

My insurance covers it all
That’s great!
