    This was a super helpful guide! I've also heard that tying the sageo in a slipknot around the obi works well too, for security, but also a quick release.

      Glad to help. I bought a longer, thicker obi this month and the technique works the same. I manage to wrap the new one too tight or too loose. Eventually I'll get the hang of that also.

    This was really helpful as I'm waiting for my new Obi, which is a witter one like yours (9,6cm) and now i cannot tie it like the thinner Obi with the knot in the front, like I am used to. Thank You for the video!

    Pro-tip... make sure, when grading, you tie your sageo. Points off for it coming untied. Find a simple knot that can be used, that will come untied just by pulling the hanging end of the sageo.

      Just yesterday I had one of the ends slip out doing Yukichigai. 4th Dan came over "Watch your sageo!" That was embarrasing. ^^

    Nice. By the way how do you make the saya?

    • @DarkShaman667
      @DarkShaman667  ปีที่แล้ว

      Make? This one is made from plastic, most likely cast. I bought it with the Bokutou from a local martial arts gear supplier. Saya for Shinken or Iaitou are made from wood, specially fit for the sword, glued together and lacquered.

      @@DarkShaman667 ah I see. I thought they were DIY using PVC, my previous iaido dojo using DIY PVC saya, but I dont know how to made them kinda hesitate to ask though because I have changed to other ryuha and seeing your video remind me of their swords.

    I have a question. That way katana don't slide off my Belt? I just need to know because I want to have my katana in Belt but i dont want to wear hakama.

    • @DarkShaman667
      @DarkShaman667  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You can try to secure the Katana with an additional Sageo around the waist overtop of the Obi, in case that it slips out easily. Tying it down in the front and up in the back. I've seen it on some beginners, but I never did it myself. I tied my Obi really tight so it would hold for about 90 minutes.
