Ovika is probably my most explosive deck. Last time I played it I had one turn where I untapped with Ovika in play. Went Mana Geyser into Shared Animosity, By Force (X=2), and Surge to Victory exiling a Prismari Command and won the game.
Really appreciated what Carlos said at the end - sometimes you have to let people have that catharsis of getting to see their deck do what they imagined (even at your own expense 😂). Great pod would watch again!
I think that’s the hard part of playing an Aggro deck is you have to be putting on the pressure all game and if you let up at all someone else can swoop in
The great irony of using a few curses is that you should put them on the people who already hate them, not the people who don't mind. This way they'll keep not minding, and everyone already knew that guy hated Curse of Opulence/Disturbance. If you make everyone hate those cards people will play differently around them, and they won't be useful.
Couple of things. 1) I'm pretty sure Matt spent a bunch of time trying to figure out whether or not he could cast mizzix mastery... But it was discounted by 4, making the spell cost 4 mana, and he only had 3 mana available. 2) Carlos, I appreciate meme strategies and win conditions, but when it's also paired with 2 good stuff commanders, and packed with many good stuff cards in the 99, it makes the meme disclaimer feel a little disingenuous. Cards like rift and deluge are so powerful on their own, i personally feel like it distracts from the flavor and theme of the deck. Have you considered playing Lord Tresserhorn or something similar as the commander to play along with the theme of the deck? I hope it doesn't sound like I'm complaining, just trying to provide some feedback. Great pod and great game!
It’s good feedback! I think the deck does need some good cards in the command zone otherwise the creatures ar e just big vanilla creatures. However, cyclonic and toxic might be good cards to take out as they are genuinely boring and maybe too good.
@@KingdomsTV i did some fiddling myself to see if I could come up with my own list using the suggestions I made, and I understand more why you did partner commanders. For me, i now realize that having that niche of a strategy requires you to pull from a much wider card pool. I tried to do Tresserhorn, but without white, the only torpor orb effect is... Well.... Torpor orb. I built a Tresserhorn list that just relied on end the turn and countering triggered abilities (which also was cool because it plays really well with the 3 final fortune spells) but white really does add a lot to the strategy.
The first reaction most ppl have to ovika is 7 mana? Well good luck but generally if the ovika player is allowed to untap the game is over lol. All the decks were cool though.

Same!

Great pod would watch again!
Woot!
Great emphasis on some of the Phyrexia commanders, seeing how they affect the board without the direct threat of Infect helps a lot.
I think it’s fun Dana has one of each version!
Awesome to watch Dana and Matt jam commander
Great guys!
What a exponential growth of that deck, nice match
It really did pop off
excellent game. Carlos was the focus at all times, but that ovika exploded hard. mizzixs mastery+mana gaiser+surge to victory.
It's good game

Where in the world can I find that Ovika list? I would love to see it
Maybe hit them up on Twitter?

Curses are really unique and hard to play imo
