For future hikers: Buzzards Belly isn't useful for resupply. The next water cache wasn't that far away, I just forgot to tell Matt about one of them, doh!
Incredibly remote and scenic. Looks like a science fiction set. Any coyotes or other animal eyes or sounds? I’m going to buy that book. Congrats on 3500
Congrats on 3500 miles! Hope your rib is okay. I no doubt you have the skills to get through the next 1000 miles, and hope the beauty of the desert is making up for all the challenges.
Congrats on 3500 miles! I’m sorry that you hurt your rib, that is a painful injury to have. I recently hurt mine, it will take a while for it to heal. I can’t even imagine hiking with that type of injury. I hope your tent is okay. Take care Matt and stay safe! 🙏🏻
I feel your pain. Just today, while fly fishing, I fell three times stepping on matted grass covering depressions/holes. Makes me question sometimes why I do it. But this quote always comes to me: “When everything goes wrong, that's when the adventure starts.” Congrats on making it 3500 miles. Be safe, good luck.
I had both after a fall of a scafolding , both hurt but the bruised one i felt for months The broken one(s) healed after 5 weeks . When you have to sneeze it's hell ! Don't know for Matt , the armstraps of a pack tend to be on the wrong place.
You have taken "dirt nap" to another level.Sure glad you are ok.Some classically beautiful shots You trek is sorta apocalyptic yes...endless walks unknown food, water resources...hours ,days without seeing or speaking to another.Burning sun, long rayed burning sun ... sleep 💤 good man sleep...
We live about 200 yards for the RR tracks here in Palisade, CO, and the trains passing through at night, even with the horns, there is something quite peaceful about them, especially as they get farther away and you can barely hear the horn.....I just drift off back to sleep - all good!
Tough walking. If you survive at least you'll have stories to tell the Grandchildren! I'm constanly imagining people in 'Ye Olde days' of Medieval times doing these style walks from North Europe to reach the Crusades, or in the old West of USA to push toward the Manifest Destiny of reaching the other coast. Musta been a lot of this, but probably with a lot harder-to-carry gear.
Well ... the least to say is Utah isn't treating you nicely . Your rib (bruised or cracked) will hurt for some months , i know what i'm talking about ! You can stand some pain but it's going to be very unconfortable. Try to keep keeping it on .Hope the Nemo survived the night.

Thanks for caching!
Matt has 'mentioned' the heat a few times, during the time he was out there Grand Junction, CO broke the daily heat record 10 days in a row!
Even if you don't like the noise, thank you for showing the trains!

The water that you had hoped for came at a price. Gosh Matt! I have you on my prayer list
Man you certainly know how to have fun: Excessively hot, falling, and surprise storms and wind. You are on quite the adventure my friend.
I keep expecting to see Ed March drive by on Willy, the mini Jeep.
such a great book!!!! post-apocalyptic scifi is my fave genre

Thanks, some tough times safe journeys. ✌🏻👊🏼
We're having fun now. Hang in there! Or, know when you're beat. Take care
Congrats on 3500 miles!

Ooof. Really hope you didn't hurt your rib too bad and the tent is ok.
I think a cracked rib is exteremely painful when you breathe deeply. A "bruised rib" hurts but without those sudden pain spikes

Be safe!
Have you thought of prefiltering water if silty? It will also settle with gravity
I’ve played with it before but never found anything effective enough to bother with. In general I’ll just filter selectively and then back flush
Yikes, what a day. Hoping to see and hear that things are looking up on your next episode. Rib stuff sucks.
Well, that all escalated quickly...so sorry. Stay safe!

Home sweet home! (For the night)😅

The suspense
Have you read Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir? Space science fiction world is ending type book. One of my favs
Yep, both Jen and I really liked that one
Yikes, this is a tough and isolated section. Concerned re the water; like that you’re gonna use the Colo R
That is a terrible ending to your day. I hope your rib is doing better now. Good luck and thank you.

Man, another really tough day. I hope it gets better.
Sorry about your rib. Time to backtrack to that stingy RV and ask for good drugs instead of water.

Hope you didn't break/crack a rib 😎👍
On the bright side, the rib was aim will distract from the feet pain!
Can the use of a hydration packet once or twice a day stretch out one’s daily water intake needs?
Looks harsh
bro u need a stillsuit
Only on Arrakis can you find them.
@@pyrholorange The Fremen make the best
Day 169 watch. Survival modes are creeping up on you. Difficult section of trail.
When your parents come you should hop in the car and go home with them.
You are so lucky to do these hikes but you seem not to enjoy them like you used to as you are always complaining and ect. Ect ect
Tough day man - hope the rib comes around - aint nothing worse than not even being able to take a deep breath, let alone doing anything else.
