As a Falcon pilot, I hope Dassault will do away with the current sideway-facing crew rest seat and replace it with a forward facing reclinable seat with a fully enclosed space like those on the latest Gulfstream/Bombardier models. For ultra-long haul flights, sometimes you can't sleep when you want to but at least with a forward facing reclinable seat within an enclosed space, you can have some privacy to relax.
Makes perfect sense. The crew's comfort should be at top priority on a long distance jet... 🏰 🛫 🗽 I think the galley/pantry could be smaller too. 🥩🥗🍷 Stay safe and well. Love from Norway 🇳🇴
That is pretty much what they are saying in the video, although the seat shown is, as you’ve mentioned, facing sideways, the guy clearly talks about, and shows, and longitudinal axis seat that can recline.
Supersonic travel is the highly desired need of this Millennium. Executive jet manufacturers may achieve it by adding 3 or 4 engines.. And that would be the ultimate in executive jets...
@@franciskt4171 Maybe so, but the pool of UHNI's who can afford the $120 million + price tag for a supersonic jet is smaller then the pool who can afford a $75 million subsonic jet.

Fabulous history of plane and helicopter design innovation and manufacture, the food, women and the culture are beautiful, however and unfortunately their automotive equivalents for the masses leave a lot to be desired..
Not because they can't - but because they won't. FR car manufacturers target women buyers mostly. British and German car makers target male buyers. Also, there are FR cars, though unimpressive they might've looked, that outperformed all of their competitors in the real world (not on the track, let's be clear). There are videos online of a least one guy driving across half of Asia in a Citroen 2CV, of Peugeots outliving Land Rovers, Mercedes and Toyotas in Africa (not recently, but in the 60s, 70s and 80s - at least according to those who lived in or traveled through Africa then), and I've personally seen the then 15-20 year old Renault R5 of a colleague's wife in a wintry North American state start without fail in -30 to -40 degree C temperatures. My colleague said he saw his neighbors taking bets as to how many days in winter before the R5 failed to start. It never did (unlike their own cars). They're not beautiful or sexy and have godawful names and stupid management, but last I checked (admittedly some years ago), they're grossly underestimated.
This interior is just one possibility. Dassault would be happy to build an interior to your specifications if you purchase a Falcon 10X. Thanks for watching!

Awful appointments inside. Looks like a cross between IKEA and a Starbucks store furniture. Hope they have plenty of options or they'll need a lot of well heeled buyers who have no taste.
My thoughts as well - to be fair, they're not exactly known (or favored) for their interior design acumen. Anyone forks over $75M+ for an aircraft always has the aircraft entirely remodeled inside anyways - so perhaps, knowing this, and knowing their customers know this as well, they just didn't really make much of an effort to out-design a specialized Italian or German design outfit. I mean, if it were your company, your money... would you?
How much is a return 15 hour flight in such a plane though? half a million dollars? full million? it's obviously luxurious but rather wasteful for 4-10pax. Would it not be more interesting to have a much smaller cabin and do supersonic for the money? Let's say you could go 2.7x as fast it would be a 5.5 hour flight instead of 15. As I understand it you can fly supersonic with a conventional subsonic engine so it's not really all that impossible.
Hi Dan, good questions! There are a lot of variable and fixed costs associated with chartering or operating an aircraft. This includes crew, fuel, maintenance, parking, insurance, airport fees, etc. An aircraft of comparable size like a Gulfstream, in my experience would cost 5-7K/per flight hour to operate. You could expect to pay this much as an owner, but if you are chartering the aircraft, you can probably expect to pay 10-20% above operating costs. Luxury is certainly something that is associated with business jets - but frequently these are used when it makes sense business wise. Say you have one, or several high level executives that need to travel between remote areas. The time savings that business aviation provides ( flying more direct to smaller airports, on own schedule vs that of airlines, and not having to wait to clear security and other time associated with commercial airline travel), along with privacy, more comfort, chance to be productive & well rested on the flight - will usually outweigh the costs of having executives spend longer on travel, extended hotel stays, etc. As far as supersonic travel goes- currently the big limitation is regulation. Most countries prohibit supersonic flights over land, and as such is mostly limited to transoceanic flights. There are other technological hurdles to overcome to try make it more cost effective (flying supersonic burns a lot of fuel) that manufacturers such as Aerion were trying to tackle. Unfortunately, between the limited ability to go supersonic, combined with high R&D costs, and low potential customerbase, makes it very challenging to financially develop, certify, and operate a supersonic businessjet. Aerion is a company that was working on such an endeavor, but recently went bankrupt. There are a few others currently working on SSBJs. Hope this helps clear some things up
@@CptDoge thanks for the answer. So quarter of a mill, maybe a bit more. Not as bad as I thought but still a ticket price :) I've seen the supersonic efforts but can't help feel they are making it look hard. The concorde was not that wild looking and was so poorly engineered that just to tip the nose was a 5 ton mechanism when a video camera would has sufficed. 5 ton dead weight is very bad engineering that burdens every other aspect of the design. Weight begets weight. Pointy cone body, delta wings, it can be kept simple. You can do very skinny cabin, since it's a luxury vehicle you can use length to give some space without needing to carry weight. Skinny shell reclined seats require very little space. Could be two seats and narrow walkway per row or even single seat per row because cross section is so important. The newcomers have the disadvantage of lack of experience, someone like dassault could hammer it out in no time if they got their heads in the game. They have experience with supersonics already.
@@DanFrederiksen Sorry to tell you but concorde was made at a time when digital camera wasn't a thing and the camera set-up back then, would have been extremely unreliable. Concorde was a mastery of engineering at the time, develope during the late 60's, where computer didn't exist or barely exist. All the burden a new supersonic jet would have to overcome is all the restricting that have followed since then, like noise pollution, general pollution, speed limitaion over land. If not designed probably from the start, it will fail before it even take off.
@@WoWaGame1 I'm aware of how old it is, it would be an ugly CRT screen and modest quality camera but it would be enough to take off and land with. Actually it first flew in 1976 and that would certainly be good enough video quality. The laserdisc was first launched in 1978 for reference of tech level. Certainly far enough ahead to have committed to the concept and could have upgraded the systems several times over the years. But in any case, certainly doable today.
