I scrape and go. I did however try power washing the underside of my scag 52 mower deck years ago but the mess it made and the clean up that followed I deemed wasn’t worth the effort.
I live in the northeast and found mulching fall leave with the mower is an effective way of getting the underside of mower deck nice and clean.

Scrape. Pressure wash at the end of the season

I have fescue and then August is crabgrass month. The crabgrass holds on to droplets of water for most of the day. I only get the type of "mud" you have under your Wright. I scrape and wire brush only, then spray WD-40 under the deck, when needed. the WD-40 repels water and makes it easier to scrape next time. If I mowed for a living I would scrape only. It's humid in the Summer and I don't want to add more water to the equation. Also, keeping blades sharpened means deck stays cleaner.

You made the comment that your next mower would not be a stand on? Curious why you said that? I am looking at a stand on to add to my fleet.

I never cut my one acre lawn in the morning or when it is raining or when it just rained and my deck never needs to be cleaned.

We landscape pros must sometime still cut when it's wet. Not ideal but the work must get done.

My son is a Gwinnett cop! Where did you get the jack? Got a link? Put down a tarp before you clean.

Using a tarp is very easy and smart
      Saves a big mess

I notice your jack lifts the mower by the mower deck, not the frame. Could this be a concern for some mowers?

We scrape our decks at the site after a wet or moist mow and blow it right back unto the lawn, we don't take it with us. Great topic.

Yea fortunately I rarely have to scrape the deck. I don't carry the jack with me so it would be difficult for sure.

      They are gator blades.

    • @ericcharlton311
      @ericcharlton311 2 ปีที่แล้ว

Gator blades are a type of mulching blade to cut up your clippings so the fertilizer and nutrients in the clippings work their way back into the soil

I really wish you would have told us what you would have liked to buy instead of the stander?

I am going to do a separate video very soon and explain what the situation is shaping up to be. Very soon!

    I
Most times scrapers just fine. However if mower is absolutely filthy I will clean mower and underside. If not, wd40 and scrape. I don't like throwing water at it if possible 54 zk.

Looks like the jungle Jim jack would not work with a center weight kit.

I scrape my Wright 36”. I’ll pressure wash mid season and at the end of the season. Though the deck can get very messy here in Ohio. What is your concern with the wright? I have one with 75hrs.. you have me scared. Lol Great Video

I am going to verify it first before and may contact Ed before I say. I have a lot of respect for his company so don't want to alarm anyone if its a fluke.
