Moogs are like cellos. No one will ever call you unique in the music world for playing a cello, but even learning to do it passably will sound amazing.
You'd need CV/Gate-Connections in order to control the Mavis. If I remember it correctly, the Kontrol series don't have that feature so you'd need a midi to cv/gate converter
@@Bonedo-Synthesizers did you have to do anything special in the settings for the Keystep or the tuning on the Mavis to get it to play in tune? My octaves are off almost a half step when playing from the Keystep (but they're in tune on the Mavis's internal keyboard.)
Hello,very cool demo, I bought the Mavis these days but I don't know how to make it play with the master key, can you help me? I tried to connect with the Gate to gate but it plays only one note...thanks in advance for your help
@@Bonedo-Synthesizers Yes, now it's clear I have the behringer swing as master key and the outputs are MOD CV, GATE, and KB CV, then SYNC out /In while in the Keystep they are: MOD, PITCH, and GATE. I understand now that the PITCH output of the Arturia is equivalent to the KB CV of the Swing and for take the signal notes i need to connect in Mavis in 1V/OCT so now works. Next purchase I'll have to buy a sequencer, do you have any suggestions? Thanks again!
@@danielegasmaffei Hi have you been able to connect swing to MAVIS? I It seems to me that swing is a 0-5V cv while MAVIS wanted -5v +5V. In addition, I tried to fine tune MAVIS with the trimmers but it miss half a tone for every octave... PS: The internal MAVIS keyboard is perfectly in tune...

Not that I'm implying you only use the Mavis passably.
Honestly, I like how the Mavis sounds... more so, than the mother32.
yawn.
@@Vospi Tee hee.
Frankly, one of your best demos.

Thanks - Have you connected the CV, too? Gate only "opens" the amplifier, you'd still need a control signal for note.

Nice video but... how is it possible to connect the keystep to the mavis and play in tune? I have a shift of pitch along octaves... 😢
Did you figure this out? I have the same problem
Why everybody on youtube got a free moog today . Do I need to have a youtube channel to have mine ?
work for a tech-newspaper like bonedo and they will send you one.
Well, having an audience will help for sure. But these are loaners, not free stuff.
Every May (super booth) and June (namm) is when most new gear is released.
@@Bonedo-Synthesizers This Mavis cant be a loaner, do you have to disassemble it before you return it lol.

Got a Moog Mavis for the same price as my Behringer Neutron and the Neutron blows the Mavis away.
this video could have been even better with a little explanation of how to set up the Mavis and the keystep. Sounds good though
CV out -> CV In
Gate Out -> Gate In
Nothing special.
bad
IT BE PERFECT WITH SLIDER INSTEAD OF KNOB POTENTIOMETERS,,,
