They are a really really good cast, that's one of my fav movies where there's suspense, intrigues, drama, everything. One of my fav psychological dramas, you'd watch that.
Come on David! Rooney's still carrying Lisbeth (her clothing style) with her and waiting for you to make the last two sequels. If you leave this in the dark and untouched, I swear!!!
Thanks. Absolutely right. Also, if he's really unlucky at the malpractice suit, her lawyer can have him brought up on criminal charges of patient abuse (Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy), which he won't be able to beat if they pull up mental ward records, which could put him in jail.
Excellent point. So true. I thought the film was interesting but ruined by the silly developments near the end. The need for a superficially clever twist ends up making JL's character the hero, which is clearly inappropriate, and undermines the points the film had been making about the pharmaceutical industry.
BTW, I'd just like to note a major plot-continuity gaffe: realistically, Emily can only be kept institutionalized until Siebert's trial, because the entire conspiracy will be revealed. Judge: Doctor, if you confirm that your patient was indeed malingering, and was not in need of institutionalization, explain why she is not only back in the mental ward, but apparently on new medication. Psychiatrist: Ummm... Uhhh... Judge: I thought so. Have fun at the malpractice suit.
I love how any film depicting a woman or gay couple as villains, or as immoral characters is "homophobic" or "misogynistic". It's really sad that to be politically correct you have to always assume that the characters in a film are a statement on anyone with the same gender or sexual preference...
I'm not a lawyer, but I'm damn skippy that any malpractice judge in the world would end the malpractice suit by ripping up the psychiatrist's practitioner's license, and charging him massive damages. In real life, he'd be screwed for keeps.
I agree; in the end we know absolutely nothing about her character because she's written as a 1-dimensional stereotypical femme fatale. We are given no meaningful insights into her motives or psyche, and asked to applaud the psychiatrist's blatant act of medical malpractice because it's happening to the "villain."
Rooney is missing the point when talking about old movies. While Law named some masterpieces of the WORLD cinema such as The Bicycle Thief, the works of Antonioni - Rooney only named old Hollywood movies which are just Hollywood movies and the cinematic world really extends far beyond Hollywood in terms of real works
Rooney Mara seems like such a cool person!
Rooney Mara is absolutely beautiful. Woah..
This made me love Rooney even more
for me she's the most stylish young actress right now
rooney is so damn beautiful when she smiles

The Lesbian moment in this movie surprised me.

I LOVE that her style became Lisbeth's after she did "Dragon Tattoo"
Does Jude have a lisp? It sounds so, a little bit. Rooney flawless as usual❤
