Awesome. Lately, I've been buying more and more into Softube. The quality and purchasing experiencing is always impeccable. After seven minutes... this was an instant buy. Downloading now! Thanks for the update!
Softube are one of the most trustworthy plug-in developers around…I have yet to buy another less than first class from them….Great review and demonstration as always….
I swear I just heard about this and I was like let me see if anyone has made a video and guess who pops up as I open TH-cam and I didn't even type anything 😂. Thanks David much appreciated 🤜
What is the difference between using this clipper and any other multiband clipper with bypassed high and low bands, like Fab Filter Saturn of Melda Multiband Clipper?
Those both seem to be badass plugins. But bro! That Clipper is SWEET! I have got to get that dude. Don't get me wrong though, I'd love to have both. Excellent presentation as always.
Widener might be up there with DrMS i'm impressed! Love the ambience feature, i wonder how well it would do as a fake drum room? I mean as a last resort if the room mics are either missing or really really bad
I realize the importance of mono compatibility is debatable, but I’m curious if any correlation metering was done in the testing, or there ia any mention in the documentation
I don't use true peak unless I'm specifically asked for it (and I do ask my clients if they want that). And that also goes for the silly loudness guidelines. My masters ceiling is -0.1/0.2 NOT true peak
Will give it a demo I’ve been on the lookout for a clipper with a good interface to see what is happening. I’m not sure how so many companies manage to get clipper UI’s looking so horrible
These look great, awesome demo as per usual. Ok -- I just went to their site -- you can get both for $79? Done -- BTW, that Bella tune I really like -- nice vibe. Thanks David.
Some of what the Widener does with the rotation mode, especially when you frequency limit it, reminds me of what you can do with UVI Shade to create ear candy movement and sound design, especially for individual tracks, but this Softube interface is quicker. Not as complex as what you can do in Shade, but Shade is so deep and complex and I'm not always sure the subtleties it can create are always really impactful on a mix to the point where something like Widener, if it's faster and simpler, might be the first option for those kinds of effects. I can see different use cases for each.
Oh Snhnap! P.s. off topic 😅 Just bought a MK2 a while ago. I wonder if they’ll have 3rd plugin application as well? Btw! RockSolid Audio has been perfecting this as well…I have their Channelstrip 2 and find no reason to get a UC1 at the moment except for maybe getting into the ecosystem and SSL aesthetic 🤷🏽♂️
Hey David, another great exclusive! As always very informative and complete review! I got a question, not so much about this video, but it might be interesting for one of your Q&A vids. When mastering a complete album, what is your approach when it comes to level matching all the songs? Considdering that not all mixes have the same peak level nor midrange information. Do you match LUFS/RMS, or perceived loudness, or none of the above?
Can there be a 2 second short along the lines of it's better than wideners xyz it's the same as abc or like you know. It's yet another widener do I really have to watch 27 minutes :(
I use that apogee soft clipper on every snare drum ever. it’s so perfect. this def seems to have more options - need to demo to see if I prefer them or the stupid-simple apogee. 👊🏻

All of the Softube plugins sound great. Quality over quantity.

What amazes me most with this plugin is that it seems to be 100% mono compatible. I didn’t see the correlometer go to the negative side even once
I swear I just heard about this and I was like let me see if anyone has made a video and guess who pops up as I open TH-cam and I didn't even type anything 😂. Thanks David much appreciated 🤜
Well yeah because they're essential providing promo for the product while showing it in use.
Same here, got the Softube email and opened up TH-cam to look at reviews, first on the line was mixbus tv. Awesome
Interesting!
I'd be interested to know how the widener compares to DrMS
Gotta have this one, thanks for the excellent demo, David.
What additional benefits can these plugins provide us compared to the variety and abundance of other plugins, apart from their graphical differences
My neighbours love the 808 test in the end of the video 🎉
What is the difference between using this clipper and any other multiband clipper with bypassed high and low bands, like Fab Filter Saturn of Melda Multiband Clipper?
NICE! I wasn't expecting something like this from Softube, the widener impressed me. PS: Bella's song 🤯 what a vibe
You give the best plugin reviews. Thank you, sir.
Thank you!
Great video as always, but PLEASE tell me you're releasing that Bella song soon!
THAT!!
I need that song! +1
Dave, Great video. Right away I love that song with Bella and those cool back ground vocal lines
Those both seem to be badass plugins. But bro! That Clipper is SWEET! I have got to get that dude. Don't get me wrong though, I'd love to have both. Excellent presentation as always.
I'm really interested how the Widener compares to mighty DrMs. I've been using DrMS for a good while and it's hard to beat.
It won't replace DrMS but it will do other tricks
Widener might be up there with DrMS i'm impressed! Love the ambience feature, i wonder how well it would do as a fake drum room? I mean as a last resort if the room mics are either missing or really really bad
It can totally work for that yes. I've been using it so much in my mixes since I got it, it's SO easy to get different types of stereo placements
Just from your video, i am totally sold tbh xD@@mixbustv
Killer plugins presented by the best in the game again! TY David 👍That Bella's tune man, it needs to be OUT already, so good!
Best in the game, thank you David 🙌I loved the Widener, seems quite different from other plugins alike
Best demo as always!! Thank you for all you do, these ones are priced 👌👌
I realize the importance of mono compatibility is debatable, but I’m curious if any correlation metering was done in the testing, or there ia any mention in the documentation
There is literally a correlation meter on the plugin at all times
Thank you, my eyesight sucks😂
Hi David, great video. Just a quick question, what is the true peak level of your masters when your client need it for streaming? is -0.1?
I don't use true peak unless I'm specifically asked for it (and I do ask my clients if they want that). And that also goes for the silly loudness guidelines. My masters ceiling is -0.1/0.2 NOT true peak
yeah i meant the ceiling, thanks dude. @@mixbustv
Will give it a demo I’ve been on the lookout for a clipper with a good interface to see what is happening. I’m not sure how so many companies manage to get clipper UI’s looking so horrible
the reason these two plugins are released is FLOW...... Flow needed clipping and widener so they made it happen.
These look great, awesome demo as per usual. Ok -- I just went to their site -- you can get both for $79? Done -- BTW, that Bella tune I really like -- nice vibe. Thanks David.
Thank you!
Best on TH-cam again and again! These are no brainer, thank you David! Quick question: are they in Console 1 as well?
yes - though Clipper is very limited
King of the hill!
Helpful video!! Both of these plugins are useful. 🙂👍💛
At this point if it's not on this channel, I'm not interested! Thank you David
Great! Thanks a lot 🤩

Does anyone know what desk he’s using?
Modson Furniture but not sure what model
New camera I see 😎
The crispy clip does almost the same thing as the softube clipper 😉
Oh Snhnap!
P.s. off topic 😅

Careful with those widening guys!
Adding too much crushes the sound and singing - 11:50 - add just a little to a mix - 10% - 15% - Drums sound good w/ Analog Clipper
Crispy clip by yum audio let’s you do a low pass and high pass filtering and different ranges
looks veeery similar to DMG audio's interfaces :)
What is the name of the song at 5.50 min ? Can’t find it ! So good song
It's Bella Kelly's new single, not out yet, it will be 2nd week of March (other singles in my description)
Oh thanks ! I'll wait so !!@@mixbustv

No you don't, just like you don't have to comment stupid stuff like this. Head to TikTok that's perfect for people with 2 seconds attention span.
xD Of course
Ugh that clipper sounds disgusting. (Good disgusting.) I guess it’s time to buy yet another Softube plugin at the intro price… 😂
Wanna hear this clipper vs apogee soft clipper which apogee soft clipper is a must
Defo, need to pick it up 🎉🎉
I use that apogee soft clipper on every snare drum ever. it’s so perfect. this def seems to have more options - need to demo to see if I prefer them or the stupid-simple apogee. 👊🏻
I don't get the hype around the apogee soft limiter.. sounds good as a saturator but clipping the master with it, it starts distorting very early
@@Fred.C1986 💯- never on anything with much bass. love it on snares though
Why clipper at top? Always have clipper last on track.
