It's weird how most of us living on Earth 🌍 will never meet or acknowledge each other's existence...for example if you're reading my comment...this is probably the first and last time you'll ever see me...so take care and keep listening to great music...it keeps us connected ✌🏾☁️✈️🌍🛸👽♥️
I cried the first and second time I heard this song at that exact transition. Its fucking insane I'm just so happy to be alive during this time of this album release. Chaotic in the most genius ways.
To me one of the most fascinating parts of this song lies in the vocal delivery of the chorus. I see certain trace elements (in the vocal delivery mind you, not the composition itself) of the vocal delivery of different Afro-whatever genres. I am not here talking about the jazz or soul influence in her normal vocal delivery, but rather something that reminds me of dancehall vocals or associated genres (rap, which is associated through it's originating in toasting, jungle, dnb etc.) in the delivery of the words: "All the words we don't say". As with those genres the vocal delivery is sort of staccato, focused on rhythmic variations and quite literally monotone as it centers around one repeated tone ("the words we don't say,"). Especially the word "say" at the end of those chorus lines are variated in rhythm, sometimes more or less delayed, tonality and length of the note. Of course later on she elaborates the chorus lines to climax the song, going into her more normal vocal delivery, but it is still a fascinating point to me that I haven't noticed in their other songs. It's always nice to see that they stay inspired and growing, listening to and incorporating many different inspirations, while still keeping a recognizable sound. They can really only get better with time if they are always going to be this curious.
HK “all the words we don’t say” ending breakdown 3:54 - 3:56 is kinda where it starts I need to break this down for my peasant brain to grasp Transition: first there is a transition from hype, electronic guitar, and fast past to this slowdown constant drum line with little sparks of guitar in my left ear. That holds up for a second, then the drums play out into the ending It’s so magical what happens here. The drums do this scatting thing, little quick taps. The guitar plays in my left ear again, Its little beautiful sparks again but this time the sparks aren’t muted like in the transition. They play all the way through (if that makes sense). Like guitar hero when u fidget the silver bar thing to make the note wavy. Nai sings this consistent “yeeeahhoooh” in the backgrounds. Divine. Then she layers it with another “yeaaahohhh” but in different scale, and runs with it. There are these little chime sounds playing in my right ear too Then there’s the bass. It’s subtle but it’s most definitely there. It’s doing these sexy ass lick sounds it’s so damn good once u peep it. It might actually be my favorite part of this piece besides the drums and nai. Nai stops singing for a sec, and there’s this muted “ wooooh or hoooh” something like that. It’s a muted voice. The guitar plays again in my left ear. Richer this time. Nai stops singing for a while to let the instruments play out, then comes back with a “woahohowoahohwoahohwoah” to finish out the song. In the moment right after she comes back. The drums do this sick ass beat, it’s like a door knock, I feel like nutting when I hear it. I think he only does that shit once in this entire section and it hits so hard. I understand why I like this music so much. There is so much going on in it. It’s complex and sounds overwhelming and daunting to breakdown until u deep dive and pay attention to how clear each beat, instrument and rhythm is. You can tell they put so much work into their music. There is much attention to detail. How do you craft music like this !? There’s so much I’m probably still missing, but that’s what makes it so exciting and gives it so much playback value.
This is one of the best breakdown comments I've ever read. Ever since I heard this I always feel called randomly throughout the day to listen to this outro, it leaves me in awe every time.
@@haisimii Well, op is pretty specific in his context tho. I just don't think you'd put mention of Moonchild here (and don't get me wrong, I do like Moonchild too). Anyway have you listened to Gentle Giant? They're somewhat an underdog 70s prog band to be clear, but good God they're just so f***ing cool!😆 Just check them out yourself if you haven't already th-cam.com/video/t2c4k_dHA2Q/w-d-xo.html
does anyone else feel nostalgic from 2:31-2:46? it sounds like the transition from blackstar/pyramid song/breathing underwater from nai palm's solo album!!! sent absolute shivers down my spine
What's brilliant about this song is that she literally doesn't say a lot of words. She repeats the same hook in different ways. It's genius song structure.
Lyrics: Draw into the sky, drink me with your eyes Breath on the ground, work the land now As it falls, as it falls around (Wooh) Safe in my hand or Stepping Razor To belong, to belong never Cradle of venom Tongue tied, watch it now As it falls, as it falls around All the words we don't say, all the words we don't say... I love the buildup for this song and how emotionally charged this album is. It’s just absolutely so beautiful, wow the band did a great job!
I cried tears of joy/utter amazement at that transition at 1:21
What a time to be alive
My favorite track on the album! Psychedelic Avant Funk at it's finest!
This is the greatest song I’ve ever heard in my almost 39 years on this planet. This is beyond space and time.

@@niahenson2211 yea i always think the world is so Lucky that these guys found eachother and decided to form a Band
This is one of the songs we need to add to our playlist of “music to show to aliens”
they did the thing in 3:20 like how they did in breathing under water. chills all over me, this band is something else.
Midnight drop? Cryptic, badass, and tuff music, I'm here for it

I’m nigerian and her intonation of the chorus reminded me of west African praise and worship songs lol . It had an almost call and response vibe
@@edeni1397 agreed, Black gospel call and response came to mind for me too! (But I was thinking of Black American gospel.)
Haha you described it in a more sophisticated way but this is exactly what I love about this song. Her voice and delivery is too beautiful
3:11 next level goosebumps
She been practicing her vocals like shit 😍😍😍🖤🖤🖤
I'm losing my shit, friends.
HOLY SHIT!!! I thought I was listening to Flying Lotus at first! THis is incredible!
