Volvo makes a slim brake booster that bolts in. it should give you the clearance you need. It comes on a 740/940 GLE 16v

Thanks, I’ll take a look! My plan was hydroboost but I just found out a Tesla electric booster bolts right in too so that’s a strong contender.

2UZFE is a good choice. Transmission fitment should be easy too. Oh you already have it on there. No, sequoia transfer going in, that's lx470 / 100 series, right? If so, amen, love ours with the 1HD-FTE 4.2 turbo diesel attached :-)

The Sequoia was an SUV version of the Tundra here in the US. The 05-07 sequoias have a pretty unusual transfer case that can select between RWD, AWD with a Torsen limited slip center diff, and then center diff locked for 4HI and 4LO. 100 series had something similar but I think no RWD and both driveshafts offset to the right side.
I wish we got the 1HD here in the US that’s a great engine!

@@LeftLaneProjects oh, interesting. Lockable torsen centre is the best I can think of in a big serious 4x4. I love having RWD mode in my Stagea though since it's a toy for mischief. It has centre lock and centre release and centre dynamic computer controlled.

Remote mount the booster like Volvo Amazons have in boosted form.

I’ve since figured out something pretty good for the brake booster problem, I’ll do an episode on it later on when I can plumb in brakes to axle and test out how well (or not) it works
