- Clips of President Joe Biden wandering off, stumbling over his words and, more recently, being led off stage by Barack Obama at a fundraiser have gone viral - with people claiming he may have dementia. And last night a White House spokesperson came to his defence, stating these clips have been carefully selected to spread misinformation. So, are we all being ageist? Or is it fair to be concerned about someone getting older?

I don’t care how old he is. He’s isn’t functioning to the level of a world leader. Period. If he was younger and acting like this, he’d still have to go.

As an American, we are absolutely terrified for this man to remain in office. Lesser of 2 evils is where we are, yet again. God help us.
Not all of us. I watched Howard Stern's (not a fan of Stern) interview with him (1.25 hours if I recall correctly) and although hid voice sounds old and looks old, he didn't seem old in terms of memory of ability to speak coherently. Do I think he's at his peak mentally, almost certainly not, but I think he's significantly more apt than social media leads us all to believe.

Yes, they have barely talked about the British general election currently taking place!
It is naive to think that Biden doesn't have some serious issues regarding his health and wellness. I get that they want for Biden to beat Trump, but it is important to be honest and accept reality. You can want Biden to win and acknowledge that he is struggling at the same time.
While I agree Biden has obvious aging issues. So does Trump just less obvious. Biden fortunately doesn't have 34 felonies. It's just sad these are the main choices.
But what are you basing this off? All those recent videos have been addressed. The problem is without the clarity, we really have no idea of his health. These are questions, not conclusions.
He really needs to retire. He is clearly not able to be a president

As an American who got fed this video after watching the Ed Davey interview (been intensely following UK politics for the past month), thank you to the woman with the pink coat. Actually speaking some sense about how we should hold are tongues unless we've actually consumed long form content on Biden. If my life was filmed to that degree, you could probably convince a cohort in the general public that I had a poor brain with quick clips.
Apparently he didn't freeze, the crowd was applauding and he was taking time to acknowledge it. I am not a fan of Biden because of his pro-Israel stance, but Trump is only a couple of years younger and has also had examples of cognitive decline (for many years!)

I agree . There were no wars when he was President. The Middle East was all settled down . People can’t get over his personality , you don’t have to like the man but his policies were mainly good

We have a retirement age for a reason. If teachers and plumbers and nurses stop when they reach their sixties, it seems prudent for any world leaders to do the same, no? They are both too old for this amount of responsibility. There are gazillions of younger people in America with more stamina and sharper minds. It’s madness. These are just the facts of life. We age. We aren’t as fit. It’s just the way of our species. It’s morn wrong to acknowledge that and move accordingly. It’s pretty wrong to ignore it and pretend it isn’t so with the whole world at stake.

I cannot understand in a country as big as America - one of the super powers - that these 2 are the only candidates - it makes absolutely no sense.
The media tells you that there are only two. There is also a Green Party candidate Jill Stein and Independent Robert F Kennedy Jr.
If someone is above life expectancy I don’t think they should hold the most powerful position in the world. Just as you wouldn’t expect a 17 year old to run for president, I think the same should be applied to Biden. Developmentally he is not the right fit for the job.
