Oh my god thank you so much max, you’re literally the best, telling us to play without having to make any major adjustments while reaching high notes was great, I can play a much nicer C above the stave, im not the best of course it’s been a few days but it’s so much better than I’ve done the last 3 years of playing trumpet, thank you so much your instructions are so helpful, I feel like I’ve been struggling to find my relaxed embouchure I’ve tried for ages but I would always struggle with high notes and become light headed or have bleh low notes and not I’m not struggling as much, you are a great teacher ^^

there's a lot of good here. as you teach, though, I would be judicious with singing analogies. there are lots of people for whom singing makes them very self-conscious, or who sing with a ton of unnecessary tension--problems that will carry over into their playing.

    I can’t believe it.
I’ve also spent tens of hours watching emboucher tutorials and set up methods and nothing worked, so I found my own emboucher. This emboucher worked good, I could get A above the staff consistently, but I had to force it so hard that my endurance was horrible (couldn’t play more than 20 seconds above the staff). I tried your method of using your “natural” emboucher, and oh my god it worked so well. I was instantly playing double high G for as long as my lungs could hold it with almost no effort at all, like it was natural.
Thank you so much for ending this endless search for me! You have no idea how much this means! (Legit have had panic attacks over this)

I’m so glad to hear that! This can be a really troubling thing for brass players, and I’ve been there. Keep working hard and good luck!

    Queen!
Yo I found your channel today. I started playing trumpet when I was 12 years old. I started playing professionally when I was 15. I played with mariachi Sol de Mexico. My teacher was Jose Hernandez. I’m 34 now and I havent played in several years and I picked up my trumpet on the first of this month. Any tips on someone who wants to play again after a couple of years with out playing? Love your channel mate thank you

Hey man! That Video may rescue me. Playing for 24 years (im 27). Im Good or maybe top in sight Reading, technical stuff but there is one Major Problem: the damn high Register. I have to fold my lower lip inside (Like Rolling) to achieve high notes but thats Not working and especially sounding bad. How to stay in the same Position/feeling? Any excercises for your advise? :)
    Great Video!

Thanks for your comment! It can be hard to coordinate, and overthinking could make things worse. Think of how you can flex your bicep without moving your arm. Yes it will flex by doing this 💪🏻, but you can also relax it in that position. You can flex it without moving by resisting the motion. You can also do this with your face muscles which you can practice in the mirror flexing without changing the shape too much. Try not to do tooo much of this on the horn because you might need less change than you think to get up in the register, but the mechanism is right. Let me know if this overcomplicates it 😅😅

@@maxparrish4718 I’ve always been habitually playing on the red of my bottom mouthpiece because of my slightly fuller lips, nobody ever told me that it was incorrect and now I feel it’s too late to change it cause I’m almost in high school

@@qowprjabfutog no its not. A good embouchure is the most important thing you can have. You still have plenty of time to fix it before college. Believe me you want to.
