This is a good approximation of how uk pedestrian crossing lights work. They also have a motor driven rotating knob under the button box that can be held by deaf blind people. When they feel the knob rotating they know the lights are set to red.

I think it would be nice if you'd explained it all in your own words and not repeating what the book ''Get started with MicroPython on Raspberry P Pico'' says. Exactly the same codes and exactly the same statements as in book. You need to understand the program first by yourself, and then try to explain others.
