I spend $20 on a cover and that's it. You don't need to spend anymore than that if you know what you're doing (and you won't even need to spend that if you know how to make the cover). One other thing, where has guy got $100,000 to piss up the wall? :)
@@pauljohnson570 some people make very good money and looking for passive income. Cleo and I have many income streams. KDP, Etsy, Self Publishing Titans, TH-cam Ads, crypto, stocks, physical product sales. Etc.
I'll start in January and and I thought the same. I can do the cover myself, got the knowledge but spending 20$ to hire somebody that do it for living is definitely better, we all know the cover is everything to attract customers, but after, if the content isn't good, the review will destroy your book.
@@pauljohnson570 Just $20 on cover? And no other tool or anything was used for interior? No subscription to anything or any other paid tool? That's great.
Yes. Time to make it known. There are other aspects covered later on in video to also stay away from. Not just this sad story. Will continue to make those things known. I think it's a must.
This was great. I love your key word search tool. I think looking for small channels to learn is so accurate. They are also more able to be interactive.
Good video but one correction as you have production not promotion as the first item. Promotion is an accumulation of most of the other items you listed.

@SelfPublishingTitans I didn't say spending money is bad. But 100k invested with 20k return that very bad investment. That means person Invested crazy amount in ADS without proper return. I don't know where is a problem is. 1. Quality of books 2. Checking if there's a need for his books 3. Bad advertisement strategy But his business is going very badly. On average, he would need to sell 15000 high content books to cover 80000 losses.
Calling a guy a moron simply due to his inability to learn and develop slowly makes me wonder who is the moron - ? did you reach out and offer assistance - ire help your fellow man or women ?
@topclassyoga790 If you have 100k I dont know how studpid you must to be to invest it in business which bring you back 20k. Thats mean he didn't done any research before he started business. He didn't educated himself. With 100k you can really build a brand on KDP. Depend from books type he cpuld make great marketing in social media with popular yt channels and instagram. Sounds to me like this person was looking for a shortcut. Actually spending time learning the business comes first. Then outsource once you know what you're doing.
This person had capital to spend. Not sure was looking for a shortcut. But I agree. Learning and knowing the entire process first will lead to more positive outcomes. That's why I often recommend doing a notebook or something super simple first and publish it no matter what you want to publish. Just to get the first hand experience and then take it from there.
Some people have lots of capital from some other successful venture or a good paying job. Others use life savings or credit cards. But ya much safer to learn as you grow and scale slowly. (Unless you have a lot of experience with Amazon already)

I’m sorry but I can’t understand how a person can do such a thing. Slow and steady is key to make money.

Not stupid at all. False believes give false expectations. Definitely great intentions and effort. But wrong sequence of actions. Sad to see.
