Great film. When I was a boy my father told me the story of Robert the Bruce taking courage from watching the spider fail six time to land its web and then succeeding on the seventh try. Today I am in my ninth decade and we have the same fight for freedom in America against an enemy that has stealthily infiltrated us. I believe we will succeed.
If you’re Godfearing sir; I believe we’re going to be mercilessly persecuted in His name…soon. Our world is almost a complete cesspool because of His adversary. God bless you and keep you and your loved ones. In Jesus’ precious Name, Amen.
Great movie! For those who remember Braveheart from 1995 Robert the Bruce in that film is the SAME actor as Robert The Bruce in this film. Super neat to see the actor come back and reprise his role!
I watched William Wallace back then and believe Scotland is one of the best countries to live in or visit. I was there for about two & half years. This new movie, Robert the Bruce, reminds me of the Highlands and the mountains that I lived in while in Aberdeen, Scotland. The people are really pleasant and sociable.
But unlike Braveheart told, Robert the Bruce never betrayed William Wallace. It was strictly an adaptation for Hollyweird to make the film more than it actually was.
While fighting the cancer, my dad told me, his best time was a holiday in Scotland. After his death, I also went to this country. I will never forget those days, it was beautiful and magic. Now I am getting old, but I will ever love this country, the people and the tragic history. I hope, some day one of my daughters will share this experience with her father and her grandfather.
As an America from Idaho my ancestry is traced back to Scotland through the Buttar family who were among the first Pioneers to settle in the lands I still live in to this day. Long live Scotland! And may America find the strength to free itself from the tyrants who are currently destroying it!
Indeed-I pray everyday we can stop those who are trying to march our country straight into authoritarianism! "We The People" means everyone, and our freedoms and rights belong to every American equally, and that's without race, religion and etc. as a consideration!
I cried my eyes out. This is not the movie you think it’s going to be but it was wonderfully produced and gives us another perspective of this time in history.
OUTSTANDING casting, acting, location, cinematography and story-telling. This movie is great. It tells a kind of human story that history books often ignore. The tale of the spider is well incorporated into the larger story. Fun fact: The Douglas coat of arms features the heart of the Bruce. They are my family, my clan. I raise my glass of highland single malt to my ancestors, their nation, and those who made this film, and can only wish that I may prove myself as worthy.
I have always had a great respect and fascination for Scotland and it's history as a latino i believe that every country deserves to be free and independent and that is how it should be. Excellent movie❗️
So the actor that played Robert the Bruce is Angus Macfadyen, the same actor who played Robert the Bruce in Braveheart in 1995, pretty wild how he played the same historical figure twice in two movies that were made 24 years apart
This seemed to me a sequel. Though very weak if actually tied to Braveheart. Kind of like avatar two both have a bunch of women and children fighting. 😂

He cared nothing about Scottish independence but rather clan dominance, land and wealth.

God Bless what a powerful testament. Although this timepiece follows that of Braveheart, Robert the Bruce is so much more ancient, in all the right ways.
I'm glad I watched this I had seen William Wallace a few times and often wondered what happened to Robert The Bruce. I heard that he was king and did free Scotland but now I know how and am proud of him especially because of how his father treated him. If that part was true in the Wallace movie. I did also like the story of the spider it's so true. Loved this flick I think it was well acted and filmed. It's a film I will probably watch again. I love people like this. I am an American. Here's a big hat tip to Scotland. May you stay forever free and in peace!!! ❤✌️
Great film. How good to see Angus Macfadyen co-write this film and reprise his role as Robert the Bruce as he did in "Braveheart". I guess he perfectly fits the persona of the Bruce.
This is one of my favorite movies from this genre... The fact that he is the same actor who played 'Robert the Bruce' in Braveheart is the icing on the cake for me!! ❤❤
Richard Harris was one of my favorite actors of all time; his range was without limits. (His performance as English Bob in "Unforgiven" alone is a show in itself.) But his son, Jared Harris, is mesmerizing; he brings authenticity to every performance.
The freedom and independence of today were fought to the last breath of our fathers before. Every drop of their blood went down to it for our prosperity. Freedom is one word with a plethora of consequences. It is good; it is bad; it is ugly. I am uncertain of what we are living in today.

My Great Grandfather was a young Bruce lad who immigrated down here to New Zealand after fighting through France in WW1 making it back home to Scotland and married a young Maori girl from Christchurch in the South Island, they had my Grandfather, another Bruce lad, who then had my Father, another Bruce lad, who then had me... I was actually given by my father an amazing original black and white photo of my Great Grandfather with all of his mates taken in Christchurch of the Scottish Pipes and Drums 1923, amazing looking guys who made it through the trenches of The Great War, it's pretty cool... New Zealand has a strong Scottish history.
I too am from the NZ ,Bruce clan. ,mothers side , Duncan Donald Bruce , sailed his own ship from Scotland, to New Zealand, 1800,s,am the 6th gen of him ,
Remember, Bruce also fought against Wallace. Just as Scottish lords jumped from one side to another depending on what was in it for them at the time. Scottish lords had as much land in 'England' as they had in 'Scotland'
Wonderful movie. Many of my ancestors were only beginning to build their castles around 1200-1300. Not long before the Black Plague would strike its terrible end.
Very Great Movie👍👍👍 It makes me think and wonder for those that gave there's Life's 1st To start this Nation a Free Nation, I Pray to GOD that it one day not only be a Free Nation/World Free from Sin, but a True Nation/World for GOD'S Own Heart!!!!
A free nation indeed.....one that perpetrated the longest and most brutal slave trade in the history of the world. 40 million Africans murdered, many more forced to work for no pay under brutal conditions, punished for trying to educate themselves.
Great job does not cover it. No words do. Loved it when he was training the boy with a sward he told him not to let his anger do the fighting. Rage devours reason. Good fighting needs your reasoning in control and using the energy of controlled anger. That is Both in physical and verbal sparing.
Angus MacFadyen...very good film. Ay...very good. Maybe some will decide the Country worth uniting and dying for. I doubt it. It empties my heart. Edit-people nitpicking the movie didn't enjoy it. Too bad.
If you have not seen it...Black Sails....Captain Charles Vane played by the same guy that played the brother in Law that wanted the 50 pieces of gold for the king. His name is Jack McGowan. His acting in Black Sails series is superb.
Very interesting for fans of Braveheart. There are some inaccuracies of course, for example, the family praying like Protestants, but there were no Protestants back then. It would be correct for them to do the sign of the cross at the beginning and end of the meal prayer.
As someone who was born and raised in England, I have visited and walked Scotland many times, watched the films and documentaries, read books about these heroes, and seen the statue of King Robert the Bruce and Braveheart. I've watched the British politics surrounding the independent wishes of Scottish Parliament and its country, and my only wish is that one day Scotland will have its independence. They just need to keep fighting for their freedom.
Great piece of history's accounting and glad to see the Brits once again were pushed out of a foreign land. Thank you for the upload, sure like history's pages like this one.
Same here. Although I thought it was odd that they would have a character in this film named Hamish (the little boy that died in the beginning). Having another character with the same name could easily cause confusion.
I put off watching this movie for over a year and honestly i thought it was gonna be a bust. But it turned out pretty damn good. And i loved seeing Macfadyen reprise his role as the Bruce. Great film, glad i finally watched it. 😊✌️

Also, how the USA forgets their loved ones and chooses greed while letting enemies "run their army" because USA doesn't have enough faith to believe in "possession of souls" from the Middle East, then so be it. Live life, appreciate value on whats left or once existed then flick everyone off and say 'One throne world, lets die in vain from.stupidity' ... Amen
Great film. Thank you for showing! I am English, but I would have given my loyalty to the Bruce.
Yea I agree. Great leaders tend to have that effect on people.
Eh mmm, Aye, But,
My fathers line was with bruce , and ehhh
Grrrr bruce and my fathers line came from Normandy, via England,
But grrrr dont you tell anybody, ok OK!,
me too !!!
Thank you for sharing this excellent movie! Blessings of love and light to all!
It was filmed in Montana 😊
😅Wallace and the Bruce did meet. He was disgusted by the flailing of the skin. It's good that I only stay 3miles from his grave
One of the best films I've ever seen.
Good movie, the actor playing Robert the Bruce also played Robert the Bruce in Brave heart.
Do yourself a huge favor and watch this great movie~ well worth your time!
I watched brave heart again and again and again and I knew that Bruce was enlightened to continue whst Wallas started great movie .
He barely spoke in this movie but Robert the Bruce is so articulate he didn’t need words. Masterpiece
Impressive acting. Seriously. The child actors are killing it! Dude, it felt real...
Brilliant movie, great storyline and fine actors & acting, directing, production and music. Thanks ❤
Great Film Robert the Bruce King of the Scotland!!!! 👑👑👑👑👑👑👑⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️
@adamdaddesa7270 Actually, his title was King of the Scots. Not being pedantic, but it denotes quite a difference.
And then one of Bruce's successors inherited England and Scottish independence came to an end.
I love that Angus Mc wrotes and starred...even if it was imagined in quite a few areas. Id watch it again.
The kid actor's were great.
Richard Harris was one of my favorite actors of all time; his range was without limits. (His performance as English Bob in "Unforgiven" alone is a show in itself.)
But his son, Jared Harris, is mesmerizing; he brings authenticity to every performance.
The freedom and independence of today were fought to the last breath of our fathers before. Every drop of their blood went down to it for our prosperity. Freedom is one word with a plethora of consequences. It is good; it is bad; it is ugly. I am uncertain of what we are living in today.
You may take my LIFE but NOT my Freeeedddddemmmmm!!!! Scotlands history is truly fascinating it's like you can smell the history in the walls of Edinburgh Castle and surrounding areas Arthurs Seat is really cool to make sure you go into Princess Street I. Edinburgh, leith is beautiful also. Amazing places in the island.
After having watched Brave Heart is so wonderful to watch Robert the Bruce!
I don't understand why the boy died can you explain that to me
Man, that was great. Scotland Forever!!!
I love hearing how many people have commented about being descendants from back in that era and theirs loads of links to people going back generations it's fascinating ❤
Most of them are lying obviously
Look up my last name and it's different spelling the original being LOUDOUN. Look up who William Wallace's grand mother was. A hill that a famous battle was fought at. I have my family tree back to 1601. My name was first recorded in 1160. Look up who the Campbell clan is and them being of my clan.
Great moving film! Brought out my wee bit of Scottish blood on my maternal side! Thank you~
I am an American by birth. But my ancestors are Scottish. Warrior blood runs thru my veins.
One of William Wallace’s brothers was my forebears. Freedom!
There must be a sequel LONG LIVE SCOTLAND 🏴!!!!!
I’m no Scot but somehow after watching this movie I feel more Scottish. 😅 Scotland never did my bloodline any wrong so my blessings to Scotland and all Scottish families in the World.
💯🫵🏼👍🏼🫡👊🏼✌🏼🇳🇱
I only recently found out doing my ancestry that this amazing man is my ancestral 22nd great grand father , now I understand where I get my endurance , stoichcal strength from and my ability to never give up when all appears to be lost , RIP amazing ancestor
Fantastic movie. So glad I took a chance and watched it!
i honour you scots fighting with honour and courage i love Scotland and I'm British i hate what the British did to Scottish people. god bless william wallice and robert the bruce i goto say i enjoyed watching this
Great historical drama brilliantly cast and excellently played.
Fascinating bit of little-known history, at least to anyone who is not familiar with the Scottish war of independence. For those of you who are, it's certainly a different take on the events, particularly if you thought that Bruce murdered Comyn without provocation.
Spiritual warfare, lets use our up to date lasers-why hide them?.. then use the old fashion formation like back in Crusades / Braveheart and with swords/knives, tanks, catapults, missiles etc. I do not understand how much ego a country has to make a hi-tech weaponry to the point where war is just lifeless, soulless people being zombies, and robots taking over yet deaths are increased due to lack of energy, enlightenment, food distributed(from greed and not bad tactical drawings). This war is spiritual or invisible and will have 'angels and devils' possessions with physical stare kingdoms in the flesh in this world. Fight hard or be a sitting duck to serve your enemies never understanding how it is an insult after the power. There will NEVER be peace, always war..repetitive war...musical chairs it seems for many centuries it seems. We can not even get insulted by a tech guy in India trying to brag how smart he is when his country has 4 rows outside on top of the train dangerously.
NZ born with Lyndsay Clan roots alongside Danish in Yorkshire and pre treaty NZ. Got zero time for the English crown.
I too am from the NZ ,Bruce clan. ,mothers side , Duncan Donald Bruce , sailed his own ship from Scotland, to New Zealand, 1800,s,am the 6th gen of him ,
@@duncanbarriball3039 We shud connect. Its 2024 in NZ and our people are still suffering.
Holy shit is that Angus Macfadyen playing Robert the Bruce again?!
Yeah, this film is a sequel to Mel Gibson's Braveheart.
Good movie. Would love to visit Scotland one day if the lord wills it.
Remember, Bruce also fought against Wallace. Just as Scottish lords jumped from one side to another depending on what was in it for them at the time. Scottish lords had as much land in 'England' as they had in 'Scotland'
always be a great movie.who watch it with me 2024-11- 11 south african time❤
Me greetings from Canada 🇨🇦.
Academy award winning acting. Perhaps even better than Braveheart.
It really was outstanding. I don’t know how I missed this
Wonderful movie. Many of my ancestors were only beginning to build their castles around 1200-1300. Not long before the Black Plague would strike its terrible end.
Yes but this movie is the lamest one in the world because they built it piggyback off of the other one there's actually true. W mad max dude
Very Great Movie👍👍👍
It makes me think and wonder for those that gave there's Life's 1st To start this Nation a Free Nation, I Pray to GOD that it one day not only be a Free Nation/World Free from Sin, but a True Nation/World for GOD'S Own Heart!!!!
A free nation indeed.....one that perpetrated the longest and most brutal slave trade in the history of the world. 40 million Africans murdered, many more forced to work for no pay under brutal conditions, punished for trying to educate themselves.
One of the best. Exquisite. God bless whosoever has uploaded this movie
Great job does not cover it. No words do. Loved it when he was training the boy with a sward he told him not to let his anger do the fighting. Rage devours reason. Good fighting needs your reasoning in control and using the energy of controlled anger. That is Both in physical and verbal sparing.
Wow,a great movie
Wasn't sure what to expect, did not disappoint.
Angus MacFadyen...very good film. Ay...very good. Maybe some will decide the Country worth uniting and dying for. I doubt it. It empties my heart.
Edit-people nitpicking the movie didn't enjoy it. Too bad.
🤩 For a free movie, that was phenomenal.
If you have not seen it...Black Sails....Captain Charles Vane played by the same guy that played the brother in Law that wanted the 50 pieces of gold for the king. His name is Jack McGowan.
His acting in Black Sails series is superb.
Um ok, THAT was one of the BEST movies I’ve seen in years!!!!!!
@JJM-qf8dz I think you mean the English, not the Brits.
Beautiful movie ❤very brave history love it...❤ from republica dominicana ❤
Great movie tears were flowing as they chanted BRUCE BRUCE BRUCE
Very underrated actor in black sails
Very good story, nothing like going back in time, and our ancient roots.
I have Scottish ancestry along with my Native American heritage and proud of my Scottish ancestors.
As a Bruce , very well done in every aspect.top marks.
Robert the Bruce picks up after Braveheart ends. Fantastic movie !!!!
GREAT STORY
GREAT FILM
LONG LIVE FREEDOM
🙏💪👍
A great film but I wish they would’ve had ahmish make a cameo. He was my favorite in Braveheart.
Same here. Although I thought it was odd that they would have a character in this film named Hamish (the little boy that died in the beginning). Having another character with the same name could easily cause confusion.
A great film! Loved it all.
Great movie. Great actors. History is so fascinating.
Freedom, the greatest gift to man kind.
This was a great movie!
thanks for sharing this movie. i am a Phyfe via a Fife arriving at Ellis Island. i hope to be fortunate enough to visit ancestral land one day.
✌️🐝➕
I hope you're able to do that. One my friends, since I was a teenager just went to this beautiful country for a family reunion. She loved it.
I put off watching this movie for over a year and honestly i thought it was gonna be a bust. But it turned out pretty damn good. And i loved seeing Macfadyen reprise his role as the Bruce. Great film, glad i finally watched it. 😊✌️
