J. Cole was testing out the waters. He says it in the song: "This is just a warning shot". Why would he go all out on Kendrick on his first diss when Kendrick did not even directly diss Cole. I think the disses were pretty solid for a warning shot disstrack. But I do agree with that the discography disses were weak. Cole knows Kendrick has one of the best discographies of all time. I think he is just poking the bear there to definitely get a response. But all in all we have to appreciate J. People like to say Kendricks was a warning. It wasnt a warm up. That was him going full ham. Think about it, he did the verse 5 months after fps released and he did it as a FEATURE. Not even on his own song. Cole shot back in 2 weeks and released an entire song and album with it. And he openely stated on the song that it was a warning and that he shouldnt press him more or he would destroy kendrick. He said "I got 2 classics i could drop right now" which is already better than Kendrick cuz he's inconsistent as shit. He also said that he was hesitant to diss Kendrick bc he likes Kendrick, but he feels he has to do it. Cole is winning in this battle already. Kendrick might respond in a year 😂. If kendrick really cared about this battle he would've dissed them sooner. Or he would diss Cole in the coming weeks or maybe a month or so. And this ain't even the fall off, he prolly gonna wait until or even if Kendrick disses him back then he will release the fall off. Edit: it took him 2 weeks my bad. Still that's even faster
Idk man Kendrick's diss was a feature on a collab album, where he has no say in when the track gets released. It's entirely possible Kendrick recorded his verse a week after for all the dogs came out and had to wait for we don't trust you to release. We don't know, but that def ain't an indicator that Kendrick ain't care or was going ham, especially if was on a feature. I also think the mentality that quantity=quality is crazy. Kendrick's discography is considered damn near flawless because he takes his time. If pumping out music just to pump it out was a sign that you're the goat then youngboy would be at the top of the rap game. The general consensus is that Kendrick's single verse was better than Coles whole track and that's sad. But the ball is in Kendrick's court now
@@jonlogiste4439 it's not just that. Cole is quicker and he makes fantastic music. Plus if we wanted to diss. Why would he do it on a feature? Why wouldn't he just make a single? I get spending time. But it took him 5 years to make Mr morale and it wasn't good.

How is Kendrick inconsistent? If we're talking about being inconsistent, J Cole is MUCH more inconsistent than Kendrick. Kendrick has no bad albums. Yall just love hating on Mr. Morale and The Big Steppers (yes its his worst album) its still great. J Coles best album (probably 2014 fhd) doesnt even COMPARE to GKMC or TPAB.
@@sussyhaha I agree. Honestly I would say he's got 2 10/10 studio albums (TPAB and GKMC) One 9/10 (MMTBS, I liked it as a concept album a lot) and two 8s. (Damn, Section 80) meanwhile Cole's barely scratched a 7 with FHD. Some people just hate to hate or to be different or smth, idek man.
Im not trying to seem like a stan but i gotta say Kendrick cleared cole with this one. Even though it was just a few lines Kendrick threw not even in own song. Cole's diss about kendricks albums being mid is crazy. And let's not forget that Kendricks first album was section 80 so Cole actually calling GKMC mid which is even worse then calling TPAB mid. And the line about him being short i didn't even catch and idek if its aimed at Kendrick but if it is then 💀
Nah it's a good diss. Even if they are great albums that's what rappers do. They critique each other music, even if it's very good. Bc it angers people. He's poking the bear to make him angry enough and fire back. Then when Kendrick does Cole will fire back and finish him off. Also Cole wasn't even trying in this diss. It was a warning
just to leave this out, the line about Kendricks discography was misinterpreted here, by "first" i think Cole means Section.80, which also correlates to when he says "Your third shit was massive and that was your prime" most likely referencing tpab being the great album it is.
damn is his "massive album" in terms of his nurmbers tho. +why would he call such a good storytelling album boring, it makes more sense with tpab since it doesn't have as many "bangers"
I don’t think he meant section 80. Most people have interpreted it as “first” meaning his first studio album which was gkmc. Either way you look at it though it’s still insane
@@Conjurment He's very average in his strain of rap. From his albums lyrically, storytelling wise, punchlines, beat wise and flows. Cole is super average and then he's corny as well. I like u, fdt2p, but I have to say this and I’m pretty sure you know it. He called gkmc boring, which is a weak opinion, but every keeps thinking his second album was tpab, when it is really gkmc
From Cole saying “first shit was classic” and “second shit put fellas to sleep” I would assume he meant Section.80 was classic and GKMC was boring, which is even crazier because GKMC is also one of the greatest rap albums of all time and Section 80… isn’t
That's the point. He's saying controversial stuff to get Kendrick angry and swing back without thinking about it. Cole is actually baiting Kendrick, and he's gonna shoot
He did NOT SAY TPAB WAS SLEEPY. He said GKMC was. Section.80 was his first, GKMC was his second, and he said second. Don’t worry, I messed that one up the first time too lmao 😂
Nah. He fucking forgot Section 80. Proof is the "4 albums in 12 years" bar. This whole scenario is reminding me of 2 other rappers who got dissed back and murdered - MGK with his "you should go back to Recovery" right after calling it trash, and obviously Jay-Z on Takeover whose bar it is
The game is even right now, Cole is in his prime and after the mightdeletelater EP, arguably the best rapper alive (I think so). Kendrick was throwing agressive shots mainly at Drake, and some bars were for J.Cole, which is why Cole responded first with heat of the same level, just less aggressive, it's a warning shot.
😂😂😂 what drugs are yall on seriously. Tpab is cool for being an artistic album it is not one of the best albums ever.😂😂 it might not be top 50 in rap history but for damn sure not top 30 😂😂 wtf is yall on
J Cole is right tho Tpab is overrated its not Boring but its overrated doesnt get past an 8/10 to me lacks in replayability and good Beat selection Also there is U on the album probably one of the worst songs to listen to i dont see myself ever playing that song in no situation am I playing that song so I would say that its overrated simply because a lot of people praise it as perfect and 10/10 which is hard to see because i dont see why you would throw on Blacker the Berry, Hood politics or U. Overall Kendrick just made better more enjoyable more comprehendable and better music like on GKMC which is a 10/10 album in my opinion. Sure Tpab is a great concept album but some songs are just lacking musically and in the end i dont listen to music for the lyrics i listen to music for a complete package where lyrics, harmony, melody, rythm etc all make me feel something. Im hoping somebody can explain why people put Tpab that high and not GKMC
I agree with you that GKMC is better than TPAB. I like Cole as a rapper more and I am siding with Cole here. But I would give TPAB another chance. I listened to it thought it wasn't too special and I hated on it for a bit. I relistned to it this week and it is a lot better than the first time. But I do think it is slightly overrated tho TPAB is more deep and doesn't have as many bangers. That's why more people like it. I can appreciate it. But I will pick an album with more bangers over storytelling majority of the time.

I couldn’t get into it. I liked all his other albums though except for overly dedicated but I haven’t even tried to listen to it honestly.
It is boring, along with most lyrical rap songs out there. Doesnt mean its bad, its just an acquired taste. Melodic music is just better bro
U kinda fumbled my this video, j Cole’s diss was worse, but you said it’s because his opinion is bad, when disses and arguments are all about opinion
i mean its liking saying elon musk is a lil bitch cause he's poor. you could attack him about other things but you chose to lie instead making the diss ass
This aged well.... 😆
kendrick was more aggressive while cole was still tryna be friendly somewhat so kendricks diss was better. but I wanna hear what drake has to say since drake is the only one whos been battle tested before
correction: battle bested before.
@@caasquinhaa dont act like back to back doesnt exist lmfao
@@ububugagaga back to back is good. You right. But I was really doing it for the comment 😂 Battle tested (bested). (Explaining a joke feels so bad bro)
I hope they go back & forth more but as it stands now Kendrick easily won
What song you like off Mr morale? The heart wasn’t originally on it. What singles did he realease?
No other singles, just thp5
Every song on the album i like
People like to say Kendricks was a warning.
Kendrick been waiting for this beef since 2012 💀that mf undoubtedly has entire notebooks just dedicated to disses. No doubt metro reached out to him to see if he'd be up for a feature and he said "oh yeah, I think I got a lil smth." this ain't the first time he's taken a warning shot at someone, but it is the first time anyone's had the balls to respond. He is locked loaded and ready to go without a doubt.
@@KingGrippyfair. This is just the start at the end of the day and its gonna get much more serious later on
I would put Lauryn at 1
saying him calling him short was a little kids joke is funny asf cause obviously you don't know music cause he was quoting another rapper.
I really really like Cole but bro just kinda went off saying some gobbledygook here
Nah bro finally someone agrees 😂 TPAB was boring and it is insanely overrated its good definetely good but GKMC and DAMN. are both better
FD2TP do you know Connor price? He's a Really good Rapper
just to leave this out, the line about Kendricks discography was misinterpreted here, by "first" i think Cole means Section.80, which also correlates to when he says "Your third shit was massive and that was your prime" most likely referencing tpab being the great album it is.
Yeah i was also confused bout that
damn is his "massive album" in terms of his nurmbers tho. +why would he call such a good storytelling album boring, it makes more sense with tpab since it doesn't have as many "bangers"
I don’t think he meant section 80. Most people have interpreted it as “first” meaning his first studio album which was gkmc. Either way you look at it though it’s still insane
So GKMC puts dudes to sleep?
@@peko3050maybe by his logic. I don't know.
Cole is such a average rapper lol cole fan hate hearing it but its very true.
L bait
@@Conjurment i wish it was bait to man
@@--REGULAR--REGULAR you cant be average while also being regarded as one of the best from this generation by many people.
Its cool if you dont like cole but to say he is average skill wise is wrong
@@Conjurment He's very average in his strain of rap. From his albums lyrically, storytelling wise, punchlines, beat wise and flows. Cole is super average and then he's corny as well. I could care less about what casual fans of rap say about cole being one of the best of his generation or any generation when he's far from the best.
@@KingGrippy I was just saying that FD2TP understood it wrong (I think)
That Cole song hurt huh
If yall say cole baiting then why make it lacklusture and boring 😢even for his own fans
This whole scenario is reminding me of 2 other rappers who got dissed back and murdered - MGK with his "you should go back to Recovery" right after calling it trash, and obviously Jay-Z on Takeover whose bar it is
Cole is better than Kendrick. Listen to the bars fools.
Best rapper alive?? How high is this bro
the best alive 🤣😂
The best alive?😂😂 my ass
kanye better than cole + l + ratio + get better music taste

Mr morale was tragic
Why does he have to say unnecessary nonsense stuff like that just for warm up

I could tell what u was gon say jus by ur face.
This is the weakest analysis and is clearly biased.
J Cole is right tho Tpab is overrated its not Boring but its overrated doesnt get past an 8/10 to me lacks in replayability and good Beat selection
Also there is U on the album probably one of the worst songs to listen to i dont see myself ever playing that song in no situation am I playing that song so I would say that its overrated simply because a lot of people praise it as perfect and 10/10 which is hard to see because i dont see why you would throw on Blacker the Berry, Hood politics or U.
But I do think it is slightly overrated tho
TPAB is more deep and doesn't have as many bangers. That's why more people like it. I can appreciate it. But I will pick an album with more bangers over storytelling majority of the time.
@@KingGrippy i would Like for Cole to win the Beef but i gotta admit Kendrick is the better Rapper.
But I mean Cole is in His Prime right now so He got a Chance tbh
kendricks verse is better, but cole is right about TPAB. that shit is fuckin mid and yall reall do over hype it and kendrick

He called gkmc boring not tpab which is still an L but he wasn’t calling tpab boring
No bro he was calling tpap boring, when j Cole said “first” he was referencing kendricks first studio album, and that was gkmc, meaning tpap was the one he called boring
