Micans is one of my absolute favorites. No matter how many rare plants I get, Micans stays at the top of my favorites

It's a great plant! Which is your favorite Micans Variegation?

My Brazil started to put out stacks of lime-green foliage as soon as I put it into a high light spot. I love how every leaf is different.

I noticed mine went from really yellow to more lime green when I took it away from the sun! 🧡

I have a Mamei (?) and agree that it is not without its problems. Mine also grows crazy, and has difficulties unfurling its leaves which are so thin that they tear easily if you try and assist it. I also have a Pastizanum (?) which is still small, and a Gloriosum. Of these 3 my favorite is the Gloriosum. I also agree with you regarding the Micans. They don't get full very easily, and as you said don't like to be watered too often. I have a Brandy, but it only does well in a terrarium, otherwise the leaves get stuck unfurling. My largest philos are a subhastatum and a squami. They are both on moss poles. The subhastatum has nice shorter petioles. It also branches off from the main vine easily. The squami has those wonderful hairy petioles but is a leggier plant, and it draws ants to it though no mealy bugs so far. I also have a large veracosum which has been easy to grow, but may be starting to decline. It also has ants visiting it but unlike the squami it has mealies. I have a Splendid which is so easy, but its growth has not rivaled the others on poles that I have mentioned.
I like your experience and care comments. Very honest. Your channel should be more popular than it is.

Thank you so much for watching! 🧡
I agree with mamei those leaves are thin when they come out! I just stopped helping haha
Yea i'm keeping my Var Gloriosum on my wishlist, but might need to swap out the other when I do that.
Do you find the pasta to produce a lot of sticky nectar?
I really appreciate your support 🧡🏵️

Omg! Thanks to you now I definitely know that the philo that was sold to me as pastazanum silver in reality is a Dean McDowell! I was so confused for months, the pot I bought had two plants, one of them was indeed a pastazanum, but I seemed to like more the one with the red growth point and couldn’t pin point why, I even repotted them in two separate pots. Thank you for sharing your experience and lighting up a question I had ❤.

🙌🏼 yay! I want to help differentiate all of these confusing labels, because I hate being unsure of an ID! 🧡 Thank you for watching!

I had a Brantianum at one time, and I could never get it to do well as a hanging plant. I have heard that they are really hard to get on a pole and to size up, but I did not try a pole. If you are wanting a silver vibe go for Scindapsus. I love my scindapsus plants and they make wonderful hanging baskets!

I have a couple of scindapsus but I haven't gotten them to a point I like. Thank you for telling me about Branti, People seem to have issues with it , probably why you don't see it people's collections too often

I think I’d try putting that Mamei end that’s growing up, onto a moss pole, see if that works
I wanted to see what the fuss was about so I picked up a Gloriosum, realizing after I’ve got 2 in the pot growing away from each other, let’s see if I can split them and have them crawling in the same direction later or if they’ll be vining out to each side, not sure how I’ll manage the pot situation then! Lol
First time watching your vids, you’re very thorough, that’s fab thanks 🙏 for sharing! ❤

16:58 You might want to try landscape staples to anchor the horizontal Mamei stem -- galvanized steel, 6 inch, 11 gauge.

I have one that I have to have a pole and tied up because of the trunk of it. Then there's another one that just grows bushy. My auntie hers grows like a vine and they all came from the same plant

I will never own a brandy again. Too much of a diva I had to keep it in a prop box at 100°/• humidity. Any lower it looks bad.

Oh that's good to know! I haven't seen too many of them in people's collections and that might be why
