I've done some of his other glute bridge exercises similar to this one and found my feet did not stay flat to the ground. This seems to be key to helping activate the glute muscles. If you're able to, look up his other videos for glute bridge and you'll see he does the same thing. So, I think that the foot will not remain flat when this is attempted. Are there harder variations/ bodyweight exercises that are a few levels above this?
Is this exercise safe if you have had back surgery and suffer with disk generative disorder?
what does it mean to "activate" your glutes?
It basically means to make that muscle active, because when it isn't active you can end up using another muscle to compensate.
