None of these people are Drillers. A driller is somebody who actually operates the rig in order to drill the oil well. To do this involves a lot of hard work starting at the bottom and spending years gaining the skill and knowledge to finally operate the drilling equipment. These guys have got their positions by going to university . They are invaluable to the operation, because their skill lies in supervising and planning the operation. But, to call them drillers is an insult to the guys who actually drill the oil wells.
those type of drillers got it by hard long workings years its not easy by time it will improve many things in your life such as focus in horrible situations or handling things normally that normal people see it very hard i remember first time i had h2s in rig floor i was trainne A/D still fresh and worm too many people in rig floor everything was cool people chill and laugh... big loud death alarm kicks i see no one in rig floor everyone were running to helideck some freaked out like mf my driller was old school he knew i dont know shit first thing he said to me: hey dont panic like them pussies its nothing me: im not but i dont know wtf should i do ( my mind forget all the courses and classes it was safe back then ) driller : watch and follow and HEY STFU i know u ask too much now is not the time save them just do what i say my mind was most clear and focus all the time while shutting the well because of his reaction now that is respected expierance from true driller 30 years on break he was born in rigs he solved things in 1 hr that R.M couldnt do in 6 hrs such bring down the crown overall he fail in iwcf exam last time p&p because his english is weak one time was r. i. h the string hit something down that bend like D letter directly he pick up fast in splits of seconds all crew were shocked how fast his reaction was they said if other on break will bring everything on our heads lol so books is somthing and years is somthing else
@@muhamedkady9023 Don't confuse an offshore driller with a land based driller. An offshore Driller has too pass quite a strigent career path to get were he is. Not only is he given responsibilty for operating multi million equipment in a multi million dollar operation. He has to pass numerous exams including the highest level of IWCF well control. A roughneck throwing spinning chain is a long way from that stage. That of course doesn't mean he can't get there. But it does mean somebody who gets there has to start at the bottom and work their way up through sheer hard work, which demands strength of character, often lacking in people who have went to university and go to where they are by having the ability to remember something they are taught. Not because they have shown special accumen. If you are in the offshore oil industry your comment shows your ignorance. If you are and got to your position through a university degree I would suggest that you probably have not got the right strength of character required. Certainly the ones I knew of in the past who looked down upon drillers or other senior drilling professionals, didn't appear to have the required strength of character.
driller job in rig is waaay more different than what they study in collegs ok they have very good knowldge about formation drilling in books which its good for printing programs and filling reports to send emails but not any one know how to keep himself calm and steady while operating that 50+k pound T. D block above floormen while your mind with calculations, your eye's on gauges on people and on everything moves in rig floor expecting in blink of an eye any bad surprise to react fast and safe for 12 hr's without minding how cold or hot weather are and thats only 1 operation called "tripping" forget about nippiling up/down, slip&cut, install or remove T.H.S or CH, changing rams, rig up/down whatever, testing, rig moves, knows why problems happend and how to fix it...etc college is good but years are most ultimate like that guy said
