Stealing Ferguson from his cheating girlfriend turned him into such a weirdo. His whole progression from that moment on was hysterical. But perfect for the character and for Lamorne as an actor. I miss Winston being ‘in my life’ way more than I ever missed Ron Swanson.

Ron may have been funny and endearing, but Winston was like this endlessly weird totally real character who developed in a very real and oddly relatable way. Winston’s hilarious increasingly absurd improvising to keep the communal seats at that restaurant cuz he wants to spend time with his friends who all have relationships, his awkwardly accidental consumption of a marble he thought was a mint when talking to the hostess - those are such genuine (and genuinely funny) human moments. Ron Swanson is funny with his woodworking, meat-loving, government-hating ‘manliness’, and I love the character as I do April and Andy etc. But they’re one-dimensional lovable whereas Winston is unpredictably, embarrassingly, weirdly but realistically lovable. I genuinely miss having that in my life. That’s all I meant.

An absolute zinger of a joke is immediately followed up with an absolute zinger of an entirely separate joke that was set up at the same time as the setup for the first zinger of a joke. It's never just one thing, there's so much to laugh at. The only comparable sitcom is Community.
