      It’s addictive. Every year the season comes round and I can’t wait to get out into the moors and hills. I think a psychologist would probably have a field day with me but what can I say 🤷‍♂️

    Thank you Justin. This gives a good insight into the work done by different agencies, the dangers of fire and the need to manage fire before it starts. Amazing footage. You do great work to educate people about fires!

    Oustanding work wow, very inspiring and gives me the desire to help as much as I can to prevent and assist when these disasters happen. Imagine what impact it would make if everybody had to donate to the agencies!!! Any idea if we would be aquiring Canadair CL415 bombers to the fleet or is that in my dreams? Well done to all the crews for your efforts.

    • @kensakamoto258
      @kensakamoto258 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe the CL415 is an excellent tool for wildland fire but only works well for very specific fire areas. The last cost I heard is over 20 million dollars each. The helicopters shown are capable of multiple types of missions for fire management.

      If you're interested in joining as a volunteer firefighter, go to www.vws.org.za for more information. Training season and intake of new recruits usually starts around April/May. Fire season starts around November. Hopefully next year corona will be a distant memory and we can take on new recruits. 🤞🏻
      If you're interested, I'd say sign up now, and you'll be contacted whenever that can happen again.
