    I ABSOLUTELY love this. As a guy who grew up using electricity as my "friendly" enemy it's great to see you doing this old school. THANK YOU! The early usage of the treadmill, without the horse. Like I said, I love this.

      Masterclass really is a good word. I’ve been telling some folks that it’s much of what you’ll hear me say in a 1 to 2 day course… just missing the hands on help and practice!

    This brought back some memories! One of my very first projects on a lathe (one with a motor tho) was made from ash. It was meant to become a small cup, but the wood was so hard the tools would not bite at all. It eventually bounced off the lathe and hit me in the face. So many lessons learned that day! Just lovely to see someone more skilled and knowledgeable than I make something beautiful like that from ash.

    Hey everyone it’s me Raleigh in the video.
    I found a few mistakes in the video that I said…
    1st - the drill bit needs to be slightly SMALLER than the tenon on the mandrel!! Sorry about that everyone. 1:02:43
    2nd - I forgot to mention that the cord needs to be between you and the mandrel as you wrap it around, otherwise it will be rotating the wrong way!! I do mention this later in the video tho! 1:23:53
    If I find other mistakes in what I said I’ll edit the comment here😅

      Could you be more specific as to what is not carving/polishing? ~Peace~

    • @WildCraftedHome
      @WildCraftedHome 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey! There are so many factors but the most likely is technique, how secure and how sharp your tools are etc.
      Watch closely to the angle of my tools in how they apply to the wood and how the angle is maintained while turning. If it’s moving you have to anchor your body frame and grip more. Lots of little bits of muscle memory and tool application experience! Keep going!!! It will get better:)
