    Love the blue backing on that Svord Bowie. Nice chopping comparison. 👍

    Just now got my Svord Von Tempsky bowie. I'm in love
    JOEX chopped right through the top edge of a car door with it. Blade was still in shape! That's real steel.

    New scientific research suggests that big fat chunks of sharpened carbon steel enhances male testosterone and performance during forrest and farm activities. The ESEE Junglas seems like it possesses the finesse of an aristocrat’s blade while the other two would do well in a Viking raid when disassembling local resistance becomes necessary. Great demo showing what edge geometry can do.

    The Junglas is great. I have one too and it's well used and loved. I like the way you modified the ontario

    The Von temsky has the best blade geometry for chopping

      I wonder hire it b would chop against the fully convexed grind of a San Mai Trail Master.

  • @3peckeredgoat735
    @3peckeredgoat735 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    The thicker the blade, the shallower the bight every time brother. My sp 10 does the same thing no matter how sharp it is, bk 9 bights deeper because it's thinner.

    I'm biased, but the SP10 Marine Raider Bowie seems to be the best all-around large knife. It can pretty much do everything, even if it doesn't do some things as well as the others.

    Excellent review- very nice bowies. I wonder what would happen if you turned the wood on a diagonal (45 degree angle) and did a chop with them instead of perpendicular- which I also understand was done in the review to show the "bite". Thanks for showing off good steel.

    The sp 10 doesn't stick that's a bonus its a great chopper !

    One you might try to add is the Ontario RD9 or SP51 both in 5160. Those two I always have with me while camping.

    Awesome video my friend yeah if I was to pick one to go into camping list or just a flat-out survival it would be between the top and the bottom knives

    So I think you’re wrong about the Von Tempsky because it’s a good design for chopping. The blade is thick, but that’s what you want so the blade won’t get stuck. It doesn’t matter if the ESEE can cut through it in 2 fewer chops if you have to take twice as long getting the blade unstuck. I understand that bite is good for the knife to get through. Its good for cutting brush and vines but not as nice for chopping. It’s why you use an axe to split wood and not a machete.

    • @peterbiltknifeguy
      @peterbiltknifeguy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’ve owned both for a while. I also love them both. But I can tell you with 100% accuracy that the esee Junglas is a much better chopper

    for a chopper i like the Ontario SP53...but it is more of a bolo than a bowie

  • @hughbennett5342
    @hughbennett5342 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Raider Bowie wider blade angle, pushes the wood to the side dude that's why doesn't stick. Esee junglas narrow blade angle thus bites and sticks

  • @bushcraft_in_the_north
    @bushcraft_in_the_north ปีที่แล้ว +1

    full flat is allways getting stuck, they are better for thinner stuff. You will use more energy trying to break them loose, than the energy you use on chopping. And allways chop in 45 degree, that is the way to do it and chop a little wider than the thickness of the wood. ESEE has the softest steel and is quick and light so it more machete use suited. The Von Tempsky is normally the best chopper in real life use and have much better steel, nothing wrong with 1095 though.

    Excellent comparison video. Esee Junglas for the win! Lol. Hey the guy who did the burnout didn’t even get the tires rolling fast enough to get the RPMs up and the tires smoking! He failed hard. Haha.

    Missing in this video is: the Becker BK9 & the Terävä Skrama (though technically not a Bowie knife)! A Scandi grind has no secondary bevel.😅

    • @peterbiltknifeguy
      @peterbiltknifeguy  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      None of the knives had a scandi grind. Did you even watch the video? Also the bk9 is garbage in my opinion and will never own one

    You do not want your blade to bite like the first blade. You will expend a lot more energy. I’d remove that goofy coating they put on it and oil that thing

    Not a fair comparison. Ontarios come with a bad factory edge, and you're a TH-camr, which means you have no clue how to use a file and establish edge geometry, so you're going to unfairly criticize the Ontario even though it's a vastly better knife than the other two once it's sharpened properly.

    • @peterbiltknifeguy
      @peterbiltknifeguy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Lol. Ok. All have my edge on them. None were factory

      Bravo. 👏You really deservedly won the first prize for the dumbest comment of the year. Took me a minute to see that he was very knowledgeable. Especially since he runs a TH-cam channel that deals with such topics.

    The ESEE would excel in a jungle type environment’ the Von Tempsky kicks ass in the Northern Hemisphere’ especially at wood processing’ I haven’t ran the big Ontario so I can’t comment on that’ all 3 would make excellent combat last ditch hand weapons though, I myself living in the Northern Hemisphere favor the SVORD VT’ all 3 are high quality as well.
