I found your channel by looking for Dungeon Meshi reactions and then I decided to watch this two-parter. I love your in-depth analysis and the contextualizing these entries. I especially loved the background for Super Kid. I also love your sense of humor and cadence, it makes for a chill watch.

i was looking forward to this part 2!! i like when you delve into historical contexts and talk about the animators too. of course, i prefer to listen to you talk about things you really love but this sure was an entertaining exercise. thank you for your service 🙏🙏🙏
I've just spent the last few hours watching your video essays in the background (and I love your Dungeon Meshi episode breakdowns!) while doing a sewing project. I love your critics and jokes, and it's cool to be able to learn a bit more about animation. I also really like your voice, it's calming and engaging! (also, i'm not going to lie I watched number two open mouthed in complete disgust, what the hell was that????)

28:44 The thing about "Ai" is, I get what it's going for, and I think it's effective-creating a brief scene from the perspective of someone being strangled, focusing mainly on the face of the person doing the strangling as they fade in and out of consciousness, and giving it the title "Love" is… well, if nothing else, it's striking-but it's more like a short comic with animation than it is a traditional short film, and judging it against whole TV series or even OVAs feels like attempting to judge a haiku by the same standards as a novel. That said, if you want a good example of Rapparu's animation chops, economy of storytelling and capacity for dealing out emotional gut-punches, the short film/quasi-music video "Kanamewo", soundtracked by the glitch producer adustam, is really worth a watch if you haven't seen it already. Anyway! These two videos were great fun. I probably would have ranked things ever so slightly differently-I have a kind of twisted respect for "Utsu Musume Sayuri" for clearly setting out to be bizarre, baffling and repulsive and succeeding with flying colours, and I feel like "Human Zoo" is a little too nothing to rank that low despite the abysmal gender politics-but beyond that, your impressions seemed largely bang on. To talk about one I had already seen: Even without knowing that Mars of Destruction is, for all intents and purposes, a reanimated cutscene comp from a pretentious smut VN with all the smut cut out, you just kind of *know* that's what you're watching while you're watching it, and it's not very much fun even to riff on. All that said, this has inspired me to watch more Keiichi Tanaami shorts. They seem extremely neat, and his more "traditional" visual art absolutely rules.
Haha yeah, this idea is sitting in the back of my mind to maybe do at some point. I think I'll have to build up some serious mental fortitude before I take on that challenge though!
It's interesting. All I've learned is that I've learned absolutely nothing, which should have been fairly obvious now that I think about it. If you were to look for the least regarded works in any medium you'd probably stumble across things that are empty husks of more fleshed out ideas, experimental entries made for expression or testing the waters rather than any entertainment value, and things that are just plain not worth most people's time for one reason or another. And to think, my ennui stems from simply the summary of all Swamp Jawn went through in entirety, and then reflected on while making a video about it. A valiant effort, but at what cost?

The myth of women being oppressed has completely overshadowed the reasons for why relationships were as they were, not to keep women down, but to cooperate and give each other purpose. Pushing women out into the market has overwhelmingly made them miserable and made it much harder for men to get jobs, which in turn makes them completely undesirable, which creates an evil circle of misery and a lot of single and lonely people. The point isn't to keep women down, it's to stop and reflect on what we're doing wrong and no one does that. Watching something like 'Human Zoo' may give some insight into early observations of the mess we're in now, across first world countries. And thank you for making this list by the way, it's a fun listen.
