This is at the Tacoma museum of glass, it's the best museum on the west coast live glassblowing every single day. The gentleman making the horse is Nick davis a highly talented glass worker
@@bravo666 Tacoma, Washington located in the Pacific Northwest about 30 min south of seattle wa. Hometown of one of the greatest artist of our time Mr. Dale Chihuly.
One of my instructors can do this and he told me it took him about 6 years to actually master it, so don't think this is easy because of how easy the artist makes it look. Its all about timing, feel, and practice. I am hoping I too can be good enough to make one of these myself.
my mums first job at the age of 13 was glass blowing in the east end of London when she was a kid of 13. She was one of many glass blowers, they used to take turns to spend 30 minutes in the shop window demonstrating their skills so the shoppers would be attracted into the shop to buy.
Man the museum of glass in Tacoma Washington is a beautiful place... they have a livestream of local blowers making stuff on TH-cam that happens pretty often
Glassblowing has a very misleading name although this is technically glassmaking or hot sculpting it just happenes to be that "glassblowing" is the name that caught on even tho blowing the bubble part is a fraction of the glassmaking .
I am fairly sure this is on the Island of Murano, near Venice (Italy, for the geographically impaired). It's really cool to see this video, as I wasn't filming when I saw it in person, and seeing the horse appear is just amazing.
Hey, Sargon. Wasn't meaning to come across as if I was putting the video down. I'm not. I really appreciate it being posted, because I didn't manage to film it when I saw this in person.
mans just made a tiny horse and walked away like he’s not some sort of god
I love the frown at the end! lol
He probably thinks he should have done it better.
its probably because he was suppose to detach the horse sculpture from the rod and make a tail, but the glass cooled off before he could do it.
Every movement by the artist is so precise. Truly amazing.

Is it still considered "blown" if its just pulled?
Very neat trick on how to make a glass horse in under 2 minutes.
Lol it was literally my dad that was filming 🤣🤣🤣If you want to see it you have to go in Italie
watching this after reading Nancy Drew :The Phantom of Venice

Damn. If I tried I’d prob get a blob and a bunch of melted glass on the floor😂😂 but actually tho. They got skilllssss
Why is it so soft for the whole time??
I can’t heat it for this long!
When I was small I see this
It's rigid yet so jelly-like, isn't it?
Now THIS is epic
In just a minute and a half ...yeah right dude. No way. Ten seconds later ....oh shit.
The end 😂😂😂😂

You may be right, I remember taking the same trip from Venice.
ianf123 I forgive you.
ianf123 I went to Murano and I got a blown glass horse just like this one.
I blew a horse once. Only, it wasn't glass.
Amazing zabardast
That’s my brother!
At the start it was *F A T H O R S E*
0:25 chubby horse
Haha i tried this like 20 times tonight and my horse always either looked like roadkill or a rat..haha
If I touch this, my hand will burst in fire with glumps of glass? Or just smoke ?
Probably both; I don't know.
That looked like effort to me.
90 seconds aint effort. It needs to be at least a full two minutes
It's effort, it's just minimal effort.
0:25
