    1. We are already investing in our maritime security by having INS VIKRAMADITYA and INS VIKRANT and aiming towards a blue navy.
    2. Protectionist measures will be a short term action or we can say a retailatory step. But in the long run we have to develop our trade relations with others groups like South East and reduce the import dependency on China as well as search for new market for our exports.
    3. We are emerging as a leader of developing countries in Asia also the world is seeing us as a power to balance the Chinese aggression so it is inevitable to keep Chinese happy with our stance which will irritate them in coming years but we should not focus on that rather than to self sustain ourselves.

Talking about the dominance of Chinese toys in India.
Now government of India has taken a nice initiative to increase the export duties from 20% to 60%.
By this step the Indian toy makers are getting opportunity to make toys and by this step MAKE IN INDIA is also promoted .And the target India will be spending about 1 trillion USD expected by 2032...
Main reason why India increased import duties is this it was observed from the reasearch 73 % of the toys coming from china are harmful for children of younger age as it contains harmful material for instance use of lead(pb).
At last I would like to add awesome lecture by mam.
    Taught everything amazingly.

Ma'am investment in Maritime Security should definitely be increased because of the growing interest of major countries in the Indian Ocean Region. If not China then other nations might create a problem here in the future and India should be ready to face any exigencies.
Protectionist measures are not going to solve any problem because retaliation might impact India's exports as well. Rather India should continue to strengthen its MSME sector and Make in India programme.
Lastly, India should establish good relations with China's adversaries like Vietnam to establish its image as a strong state.
Direct confrontation with China is not beneficial at any level but India needs to rise to face China on equal terms.

We must invest in maritime security, because if china is targeting india through their different strategies and building more ports around the Indian ocean, it definitely can prove to be a threat to India in the future. So it would be better if we start expanding our naval bases in surrounding countries, just like how we have built changi naval base in Singapore, sabang port in Indonesia which is in the route from where the crude oil passed to china. We should have more naval exercise with different countries. Its better to have a good relation.

    • @saurabhsdangi20

Ya u r right completely agree Indian govt. must expend on Maritime security and enhance Naval excercise with common maritime boundary nations like Sri Lanka Maldives and South Asian Nations too

As quote sats," The only way to avoid a War is prepared for War."
Not only we increased our coastal line security budgets but also looking for the ports we can make outside of the country. In Iran jask port gave access to India for oil reserves facility. China occupied humbanthota port from sri lanka due to foreign debt. This is the one of reason that can be threat to India because from there china can surveillance over indian ships.
As we export the Brahmos missile to Phillipines, it is somewhere showing our nation as a exporter. But this deal was important because Phillipines is facing conflict with china in west china sea. In terms of opposing china, west china sea shareholders who are also opposing china, are very important for india. Because enemy's enemy is friend!

    1) We should definitely incerease investment Indian ocean strategy because all we know intention of china for acquiring land of other country so we must be careful and more devlop project like Sittwe port to counter China
    2) Not only protectionism is enough but we need also to develop our indegineous product in every field to Counter china because we have already balance of payment issue with china
    3) Tit for Tat we make good relation as well as make our strategic partner with china adversaries like vitenam by giving China its own medicine. We have already a Necklace of Diamond to counter Chinas pearl of string

    2) Banning their apps and other imports will work as they are exporting us more than purchasing our goods. It will teach lesson to them.

Yes , India should increase maritime security investment. India have a very long coastline and if we want to establish our control over Indian Ocean then we have to increase our naval power . China is already putting huge resources for its naval development , we have to do the same .

    1. Yes Ma'am, India must increase its Maritime security, reason being the constant increase in Naval strength of China. We can also exploit it's Malacca dilemma with our increased Naval strength and build strong relations with Myanmar and Iran to have a hold over Sittwe and Chabahar ports respectively.
    2. Protectionism won't help much because we have a negative Balance of Payment against China. Also, China has been the largest importer to India. Even if we wish to use Protectionism as a tool, we must strengthen indigenous industry first so that it can serve as an alternative after we oust China.
    3. We should definitely go with making good relations with adversaries of China, as professed by Chanakya in Arthashastra, we must counter our enemies by making relations with its adversaries. For instance, Vietnam can be India's key partner because it is harassed by China time and again. India has also had historically good relations with Vietnam.

      Hi Shubham
Very well put, so on point about Sittwe it can be a game changer for us. Again, giving China taste of its own medicine might not be possible but collabrating with its adversaries and exposing Debt Diplomacy can help.

India's maritime strategy must change and we should focus on making our navy strong to counter China because she is definitely interested in Indian Ocean.
However the other 2 strategies that u asked about ma'am seem meak as India is not an industrial base, so the boycotting is not practical. And the Alliances with countries like Vietnam may not be so fruitful as they themselves are small states. While we can make strong relations with stronger countries like QUAD to counter China.

You forgot the economic inter-dependency? Every other policy flows from that core topic. Any discussion on relationship between two countries without including the economic angle is immature.

According to me projectionist measure doesn't work well. Why because! China is the one who is the top most importer of indian goods and india's top importer is china. India relay on china for many products whether its electronics, medical etc. And if we start boycotting Chinese products then it will be a great loss if we really want to make our export rates rather than thinking about boycotting chinese products, we should divert our focus on unicorns start-ups, government agencies like invest india, start up india should start funding these start up or the industrial companies because why these companies are not in the progress because of lack of funding. We need to support financially. All though our rank in "Ease of doing business" Raised but we are still doing poorly in this field. Under atma nirbhar agenda, we should start focusing on developing productts by own , and for that we need to have more labour, new technology, knowledge. All these aspects required to move forward to be self reliant.

We have break China internally, Make independent country to Tibet, Taiwan, HK, Xinjiang.
Also break balochistan from Pakistan then attack and take back POK.
No more defensive now. Enough is enough.

I want northeast to be with China because in India only northeast is the state especially state like tripura where there is no justice thousand of people from Bangladesh walk openly in tripura, now tripura is full of Bangladesh people is this a democratic country or open home country to give shelter to everyone from the world

Government is doing what they want to do
With that indian armed forces were also deployed to counter terriorists and other bad things in society
NRC is approved and working now no more bangla will be tolerated
In last SUPPORT of northeastern people is also require they have to belive that government is working for them and most important they have to COOPERATE with indian armed forces because they are killing bad things of society
I want to give example as people of gaza supported HAMAS knowing hamas is wrong but for religion and know you can see the condition of normal people like this understand india is incomplete without northeastern people and northeastern are incomplete without india
      We all are BROTHERS
I meet many northeastern in SSB and all are very friendly in nature.
