@@Deltexterityit’s not bad to play at all, buying a hack client and getting priority queue and getting out of spawn is super easy, the main downside is time, like being older and not having all day just to play video games. 2b2t is one of those things you have to play at least like 5 hours every day to truly do something cool or become immersed in the community.

I like how they even erode like real monuments, with people taking pieces of them over time. Throughout history whenever people needed stone or stuff to build houses they would get it from ancient forgotten temples and structures and these monuments seem to be no exception to people with a diamond pickaxe
Not realy, most do it because they simply can. 2b2t is an anarchy server, grievers and hackers thrive on them and its also can be use as a testing ground... hacking bots that are linked with each other are no joke.

I love the analogy of sand castles. There are Tibetan monks that would spend hours creating beautiful sand drawings just to destroy them in seconds. What fascinates me about 2b2t is the organicism where player literally build their own RPG world. It also enlightens a philosophy in life I think that offers a lot for people to learn from.
it's ironic since you wouldn't expect any meaningful philosophy from a server full of swastikas and spicy anime maparts and constant explosions and rocks
I'm into archaeology and paleohistory in general, focused on the processes which produce history as we are able to observe it. I find it fascinating how the defacing of the 2b2t monuments mirror the historical repurposing of monuments in ancient history. For example, it was not uncommon for ruins or monuments to be used as "quarries", reusing the stones to build new structures (see the Roman colosseum). I also find it funny how the looting of the beacons from the 2b2t monuments mirrors how the white and gold top layer of the great pyramids had be almost entirely looted from their creation to modern day.
I love the creativity of some of the mega builds on 2b2t I struggle to get the motivation to finish huge projects like that as it is, I think I'd be even less motivated if I knew everything was 99.9% guaranteed to get griefed 😅

Stuff like this is why I love the concept of 2b2t, completely emergent gameplay, structures that you don't maintain slowly crumble to dust, much like they would in real life. The one thing that I fear is that Microsoft will soon just send cease and desist to 2b2t because people say stuff they don't approve of in the server chat. That and the server just being super lax on everything. After recent updates I can tell that Microsoft does not approve.
I actually encountered the northern monument soon after it was completed. I took a world download when I saw it in case nobody else downloaded it yet. I'm currently trying to join The Last Templar, but there's a huge number of new players trying to join right now. I'll try again next month.
On CPE+ we don’t have a history dupes so we went with far more modest and less durable builds. They’ve been griefed repeatedly of course, but their simplicity has made them easier to restore. Always it is a struggle against the people who think it is okay to kick over sand castles they have no claim to.

If you know more of 2b2t´s mega builds, then these ones dont seem as impressive anymore. The ones from SalC are nice, but cant compare to many older ones.
Ya know, 2b2t parallels real life in a lot of interesting ways, from how alliances can crumble and fracture to how buildings and monuments' greatest enemies are time and vandals. Even the greatest of structures withers away with disrepair and griefers, the mightiest of alliances can splinter like the HRE, Yugoslavia, or the USSR, people unite because of everything from shared hatred to friendships forged over time and it can all fall apart in an instant. Bases have been leaked and destroyed because of the pettiest reasons and players have come from this server and gone from this server.
I might make a stachue simuler towards the stachue of liberty since it's very iconic however it won't represent freedom nor the land of the free rather it will represent combat, and chaos aka anarchy

The giant minimalist sentinel statues posing with their swords are one of the coolest builds I've seen.
