When people talk about power hitters of the 90's everyone always talk about Griffey, Bonds, McGwire, Sosa but nobody ever brings up Albert Belle and it's a shame.
He only played ten full seasons and hit nearly 400 homers. Not to mention his 50/50 year in a SHORTENED SEASON. It was a shame his body broke down so fast because he easily would have cleared 500 homers maybe making a run towards 600.
With some players getting relooked at for the hall of fame through advanced metrics he has a strong case for him because I believe he is top 40 all-time in career OPS and OPS+

    Perfectly stated!
    A.B. was a straight beast
It’s to bad more people didn’t get the chance to see a side of him, that is did!
Either my mother or one of my buddies mothers would take to go get the player’s autographs (at the old stadium the players had to walk through the parking to get in the stadium, perfect for autographs)
I 1st met A.B. when he went by Joey & from day one this guy was aces to me! As I got older I would go down after school with some buddies get some autographs & stay for the game. When A.B. asked me about how I got my tickets & and told I paid. Starting that day i never paid for another ticket at that old stadium! In fact I sat next to his parents & brother when they were in town.
If that arthritis didn’t mess him up so bad
There would be no question that A.B. would of been a 1st ballot H.O.F.!!

Belle and Manny were 2 of the best right handed hitters ever, EVER!!! almost won a ring together w/Indians ending the Cle. DROUGHT, but gotta have pitchin, was good, not good enough. look at Mannys Avg for fucks sake, especially w/ducks on pond.. and Albert so dangerous, often clutch time they took the bat out of his hands, Intentionally walked. 2 best rightness in 90's.., but gotta include the boy Pujous, different kind of dude, he on that level, absolutely levels to this shit, couple more deadly 90's righties, Gallaraga, Garry the "chef", matt williams juan Gonzales crazy #s, late 90's Bagwell, Piazza, Moliter, pucket would kill you, joe Carter, all around maybe best fuckin player of the decade, people downgrade him cause of 1 incident, obviously the spitting incident.. Roberto Alamor, what a star!!!!as well.. Bobby Bonilla, Frank Thomas, McGuire, Edgar Martinez(certified SRUD¡!!!)the Crime Dog.., Mattingly, Ricky Henderson, Willie Mays just fucking with you seeing if any1 still paying attention, and finally Ryne Sandberg. Could honestly keep on. Why I love baseball, the history, the nostalgia, the ghosts, heroes never die, , was America's game 4 a damn good reason, still is and will always be immensely popular, just more $$$ and interesting starting mid 90's I'd say, more attention ever pumped into football, and Basketball, Baseball took a backseat 4 time being, roles can change on a dime though, baseball scandals really killed the momentum of the sport...
