We have had an unusually hot summer here in BC Canada so I have had 2 yellow peppers ripen o. The vine so far this year. Another great video. Cheers from hot 🔥smokey BC Canada 🇨🇦
Your peppers are beautiful! Great info about pepper colors. I've grown different varieties of yellow, purple, orange, and red peppers that all changed from green to their final color.
I've got lots of tomatoes and a good amount of peppers growing but not a single one has ripened yet. How crazy is this, I even had a dream last night that I went out and found all my tomatoes were bright red, I was so happy! Then I woke up XD Today I have been taking the tops of the plants off and some more lower leaves, hopefully they'll start turning soon!
Hopefully it will help your anxiety if I say - it's not crazy at all but quite normal. Everyone's growing areas are different and subject to a whole heap of different things. Some folk with have ripe stuff now and others won't but that's all ok and totally normal. Don't let your gardening stress you out, try to keep it as that wee bit of fun and relaxation in your life or it will absolutely become the worst chore ever :D To give you an example of how different we can all be... my tomatoes are almost passed now - whereas everyone else just seems to be starting to get a crop now :D

Thanks for sharing your pepper knowledge. I grow a variety of peppers green, red, orange. but I have to say purple are my favorite. I'm in 7b zone here in AZ. TFS
I would have eaten all those peppers. They look delicious 😋 Last year I planned a dedicated pepper bed and this year it’s packed with plants. Not a lot of peppers because it’s a new bed, but next year should be awesome from compost build up
Excelletn video Eli. I am growing the same ones as you. Have quite a lot of medium sized fruits so will take off the flowers and tiny ones tomorrow. Temperarures supposed to go back up down here this week.
Great video and peppers. I’m JEAOUS! My bell peppers haven’t set any fruit this year. My padron and pretty n sweet have, but no bells. I think topping off is key. Also, did you do any hand pollination on the peppers?
I have bell pepper plants I had one I picked green and left it out on the counter and it started turning yellow never have seen that before have had a few red ones when left on plant
Thank you for the information. I have some pepper plants that I have been growing since January and they have produced beautiful foliage however little fruit. These are ghost hot peppers (chilis). I am very interested in growing Bell peppers next year in the greenhouse and will follow your advice. You have an amazing crop of peppers. Question: how often do you fertilize the peppers and what NPK do you recommend?
Abs brilliant kate 😮 i have to subscribe to a gardener who can grow bell peppers like that in a uk green house. Have tried bell peppers a few times in my greenhouse but not major success, few fruit and small.
I think a lot of it comes down to how strong you can get them at the start and the varieties you choose. My preference is King of the North which do well in the slightly cooler climates
@@eliandkate i read something a while ago about a green ripening bell pepper but there wasn't really any info on it so wether it actually exists is another thing! Chilli wise i am going to be growing Mini Olive Rocoto this coming season and that is green when ripe.

Thank you so much for this video, Eli! My peppers are outside (I'm near Perth) and believe it or not, I have about nine peppers between two plants. I guess I need to make a decision about how I want to proceed. Do I want to just let the plant concentrate on what's already there and growing or do I want to let it continue to produce....hmmm. I'll have to have a think about that!
I am going to try bell peppers again. I would like for them to grow big enough to make stuffed bell peppers. We have to be careful here in Texas since it gets really hot here along the coast. Once it hits 90 degrees and above tomatoes and peppers don't like it.
All 8 of my pepper plants were taken out by slugs this year. I did copper tape them but the climbed over from the leaves touching the greenhouse wall so my oops.

Hello, Eli. I have that exact shirt you’re wearing, but I can’t wear it until October, due to the furnace-blast of a summer we’re having😡. Tank tops only for a while longer, I guess. Ah, my pepper plants. I’m finally getting a lot of blooms that turn into nubs, then actual fruit. However, I have also gotten a lot of blossom end rot-and that’s with watering religiously. I’ve taken to using a liquid Calcium/Magnesium product called CalMag, and the blossom end rot has been eliminated on most of the fruit. The label says to use it at every watering, though, but I just double up and add it twice a week. We’ve gotten only one red ripe pepper, and the flesh was bitter. I’ve pruned very little foliage for fear of sun scald during our hot summer, so maybe that had something to do with the lack of sweetness. I don’t really know. But next year, I’m trying a different variety. Thanks for the Sunday-morning cheer, and tell Kate I said “Wassup”.
That's coz all the best peeps ha e that T shirt!!! Here's an interesting fact for you.... here, a tank top is a woollen jumper with no sleeves..... usually worn over a shirt. 😀😀😀 Kate laughed 😅🤣
Wow! I’d die in a woolen Scottish tank top. Here in the U.S., a tank top is made from cotton, and also called a “wife beater”. So called because of abusive men in old movies who all seemed to wear these undershirts, I suppose. STELLAAA! Nowadays, tanks are not undershirts, of course, and in winter, I switch to a regular T-shirt. I have a few long sleeve shirts, but rarely wear them, except when we go to the snow in the mountains. P.s. today is going to reach 113 Fahrenheit. The second watering is going to be murder, with all the forest-fire smoke and heat.
Ah so what you wear we call a vest.... and....to confuse things more... what you call a vest, we call a waistcoat. Hard to believe that 5 minutes ago we were probably using g the same words and somewhere it all went it's own way :) Cloudy and gray today but still warm (well not cold 17c)
