Sybill loved him and married him. She had Tom's baby, and still Lordy is calling him Branston. 😠 Tom's right when he says Lordy cannot understand why there's a chauffeur at his table. 😠
Daisy didn’t have to mention that William was her husband; the fact that she does is such a heartbreaking indicator that she did grow to love him but only after it was too late. She doesn’t remember him as “just a friend” anymore.
I know Edith gets flak regarding her treatment of the Drews, and the Swiss couple before them that she took Marigold from. BUT I think she definitely grew and matured throughout the series and is much kinder than she was at the beginning.
I’ve never heard any flak. How could anyone who understood that historical period, the realities Edith faced, and a mother’s love possibly criticize her for that?
IRL little Marigold would have trouble bonding with her mother, after all the separations, first from Edith, then the Swiss couple, then the Drewes. Then Edith again?

I think that the actress playing Daisy, in the scene where she talks about William, did an absolutly marvelous job.
Daisy was lucky to have a great father in law. Very understanding and supportive.

These scenes were seen in America. I've been watching the series again on Netflix, it's the British version and I notice some scenes are missing.

Matthew Plato those scenes always drive me crazy. It was during the seasons when Robert was still mostly a jerk.
These weren't cut.
Why were they laughing?
Possibly because they were nervous, but more likely because they regard the 'toffs' as inhuman and unfeeling.
Daisy as an egotistical, selfish manipulator, was played to perfection.
She wasn't.
None of these scenes were missing
Not if you watched on PBS but they are missing on the Netflix version.
