I found Oliver Twist and got the London landmark before I even got to New Atlantis. There's at least two copies in the tutorial mission on Kreet, and they can be found all over the place. Also, you don't HAVE to get yourself arrested to join the Crimson Fleet. The "proper" way of joining is to do the first Vanguard mission and then Tuala will send you off to the Vigilance to get recruited by SysDef the friendly way. Also also, there's also one on Luna for the Apollo landing site. Don't remember which book it was that got it for me, but I found it during the first Vanguard mission.
They arrested me for contraband despite me not having any so I assumed it was forced. This was really early on too before I had settled into the game haha.

That's awesome you found the London one and you're very weclome for the info buddy To be honest I know this video was roughly 10 mins but it took me roughly a day or so worth of exploring , finishing side quests and capturing and editing 😂 the toughest one's to find were the osaka & dubai landmarks , the crimson fleet side quest can take a while 😅
Fun fact- there was actually a TV show about 13 years ago called Life After People, which speculates what would happen to Earth in a scenario where every human disappeared. While the landmarks they chose were certainly interesting and offered great artistic value as far as its appearance, using that show as a point of reference actually gives better examples of structures that would still be standing hundreds of years after the absence of humans. Off the top of my head, structures that would still be standing after all this time include- The Statue of Liberty’s pedestal The Marine Corps War Memorial Mt Rushmore The Hoover Dam The Great Wall of China USS Missouri The Venus De Milo statue Notre Dame cathedral
As a Marine, I take great pride that our greatest memorial could, in theory, stand the test of time. Gives even more validity and credence to our motto: Semper Fidelis

There's a big difference between the assumptions used to create that show and what happened in Starfield. In Starfield the earth loses it's atmosphere. Life after people cited erosion, plant encroachment and oxidation as the primary elements of destruction, none of which would be a thing without an atmosphere. Starfield also only takes place 100 years after the earth becomes uninhabitable. The destruction seems to me to be far more complete than if this really happened. Although....without an atmosphere, meteors might do a pretty thorough job of sandblasting the earth's surface, so maybe not.

AS I said prior, that show gives us at least a somewhat usable frame of reference as far as "What could still be standing when all the humans are gone"
I can completely relate to that ! When I first landed my initial excitement was quickly diminished when I realised it was nothing but rock and desert for miles. I was kind of hoping to see some signs of life or even buildings but nothing. From a standpoint of a game, yes there should be more things there, however from a lore standpoint it makes sense. Humans in starfield went to space because Earth was going to be uninhabitable cause of the collapse of the magnetosphere. By the time the story starts Earth had been bombarded by solar winds with no protection and no maintenance for 230 years. It will be more amusing that not everything is dust.
I feel the same way! There’s tons of landmarks out there that would have worked but I can understand they wanted landmarks to have some sort of link to the books and quests throughout the game .. but who knows they could possibly update the world later down the line to add more 👀 It would have been pretty cool to see some real world landmarks that have been featured in other games , such as ones from the Fallout games, just to give that little tie in and nod to the universe ☺️
great.. 5:50 I have a bug where I did most of the ECS constant story and the ship was supposed to relocate but my map still says its in orbit above Pardiso but its not there, even worse I still still have two side quests that involve people on board but cannot find the ship, so thats 3 things I cannot check on my 100% completion list...
oh thank the lord there’s a tutorial for all the books i once found the book that allowed me to go to the landmark of the landing site of the first men on the moon, but i never went there (it was my first run, now i’m ng5)

Several books are missable and not able to het after certain missions. Iys not the only thing they nake almost impossible to do without a guide and not findable beyond a certain point. Piss take really. You have no way of knowing that books lead to landmarks and then when you do how would you ever find 10 books in the galaxy. A bit like the burden of evidence quest, impossible without a quest. I e never had to spend so much time on google during a game as this.
Unfortunately not, they're just external structures , however some buildings have little walkways jutting out that you can walk across and walk into , but not actually inside the building 🤘🏻
My honest answer is that for now I'm not sure I tried to place down an outpost but it didn't let me , for reason's I don't know why 😅😅 But I will definitely run around exploring to see if we can because that would be pretty cool!
Just following up on this comment ! I've tested it and it looks like you can place bases on earth and in regards to the Pyramids , you can't place a base directly on top of the landmark but you can place it roughly 500m away from the actual landmark itself
I’ve allready completed the colony ship mission and i can’t for the life of me find it again :( Is there a way to get the book after the ship disappears or is that it just missed and gone ? (Will be rather annoyed if they locked a snow globe out like that…. Just “ oh well you had your chance “….)

However when it comes to that particular book I'm not sure if you can find it elsewhere and to be honest I feel like it's possible to find it elsewhere. I don't think they would deliberately lock people out of obtaining something like that, that is sort of found by accident, unless the quest has been prompted. I'll try and research it and see what I can come up with because I completely understand your feelings on this one!
Some of these books are locked out and inaccessible after certain quest lines have been completed. Very inconsiderate move on Bethesda's part. -The book(The Essentials of Modern Macroeconomics) [Shanghai Tower Shanghai Landmark] on the Unidentified Ship near Porrima II is locked out as the ship disappears after you complete its related quest. -The book(Diary of Kyasuke Nagata) [Abeno Harukas Osaka Landmark] on the Key near Suvorov is locked out after you complete the Crimson Fleet quest line as the Core/Bridge are locked behind doors that are not intreractable. -The book(Race to the Heavens) [Burj Khalifa Dubai Landmark] on the Siren of the Seas near Aranae IV is locked out as the ship disappears after you complete its related quest for the Crimson Fleet.
@justiceclum8046 seems to be a pattern with this game. Build in features then lock them out. I might try the console command "tcl" to turn off clipping, walked through walls and get to some of these books. But as you say, that won't help you with that colony ship.
Hey thanks for checking out the video! The Hong Kong one can be an easy one to miss! Hopefully now you'll be able to find the journal and make your way there 😊 Also regarding the Dubai one , I'm nearly sure if you want to try and work around getting your hands on the journal , if you're on PC , you can use console commands to clip in and out of the room on the ship that the journal is in. Or alternatively if you're on PC , you can spawn a copy of the journal by using console commands , just type into the console command , player.additem [item ID] [#] I'm not too sure what the item ID for the book is but just make sure you type 1 beside Item ID and it will spawn it for you However if you're on console and have already passed these missions and can't get back in , I'm not 100% sure if there's a way to get it again 😔
That's the one thing I really don't like about this game. You can't find things naturally you have to unlock a map location to fast travel to it. Like you should be able to land in the area of the landmarks and be able to find it.
Its not possible to find landmarks without the snowglobes/books - they just dosent exist until you unlock them, no matter how many times you land and explore so let that be clear to everyone.
So Bethesda found time to make these silly landmarks that you can't get to, but couldn't find time to finish critical features like functional habs, helium 3 fuel for ships and limted ship ammo ??? 😡

When i travelled to earth and landed the Planet it was so underwhelming, there was nothing just some geological sites, thank you for this video though

Like we only 200 years or so in future how is all buildings gone or even highways

The Egypt one is NOT on the most distant Pyramid from the landing spot, it's on the back left corner as you approach the nearest, largest Pyramid.
Can we find these places without reading the books or do they just appear after reading each book

you forgot the landing sight of Eagle on the moon. You also don't need to be arrested to start the crimson fleet quest. Just join the Vanguard.
You don’t need to be arrested you can just do the Vanguard quest-line, and work for the UC and go undercover.

There’s 12 locations in total , 10 earth landmarks and 2 non earth landmarks, the moon and mars 😊

1 Earth building in each city that u have to unlock through books. Just as half ass as Saints Row 2022. Smh. I already quit.
