Love how he is in the middle of talking and his hand appears out of nowhere with a hornet in it and always brings it to the camera for its assassination.
I've used this for sealing off the entrance to a cavity building nest species that made their nest in concrete ecology blocks. Since I didn't have a tractor to lift the blocks I just sealed them in. Worked great.
This dude needs so many more views. Based on how he is at risk plus his videos are very interesting, he does the things I’ve always wanted to do with hornet nests but I guess I was either too scared or too smart. Either way he deserves more views. Thank you brother for putting your safety at risk and sharing with us. God bless.
Our company put an extremely loud buzzer in our break room to remind people when break was over. And when I mean loud I mean something like a buzzer you would use in a loud industrial environment. We thought about calling OSHA but figured it would take to long. Instead we filled it will an expanding foam. It was perfect after that.
Can you imagine if your front door was ripped off and some giant tube filled your house with loctite foam, how confused you'd be? Definitely turn your world upside down. Good show!
I was mowing my new girlfriend’s back yard and disturbed a ground hornet’s nest. Needless to say I turned the mower off and got out of there. It was a huge swarm!! About an hour later I came back at night with four cans of high expanding foam and emptied them all in the hole. Three days later I noticed a bump in the yard about four inches high and about ten feet around. I removed the sod, leveled the ground and replaced the sod. As I’m admiring my work, I look up at the tree just on the other side of the chain link fence and there’s a huge bee’s nest in the tree about the size of a basketball. I cleared the area of anything that’d burn, put a metal trash can under it, moving slowly, poured about a half gallon of gas into the can and tossed in a match. No escape. Found two more nests in two more barns. Waited until night, donned my night vision, bagged both in contractor bags, sprayed in spray foam and it totally encased the nests. Dug a hole with the backhoe and buried them about ten feet deep. Next, onto the rodent problem. Six five gallon pales with peanut butter on a bottle with 1/4 full of water and in two weeks, gone. Must have been Thousands of them. It got easier after awhile. And the peanut butter grocery bill settled down. Fun fun fun!!
I had a bald face hornet nest in a tree outside my house about eight feet up, but not in an area where the kids played. My neighbor told me they ate yellow jackets, so I left the nest alone. The summer the bald face hornet nest was there, we saw very few yellow jackets. A far cry from the year before, when I and my kids had been stung several times by yellow jackets. Also, unlike the yellow jackets, the bald face hornets never worked their way into the house. They seemed content to live in their nest, and never bothered me when I mowed the lawn under their nest.
@@blulumen5420 In my experience, if you don't mess with them, they won't mess with you. Yellow jackets, on the other hand, are just a-holes and sting at random. That nest in the video needed to be removed, though, mostly because kids played around there.
Bald faced hornets are still territorial, and if they decide to come after you they'll light you up and each sting feels like getting shot by a bb gun.
One of the best methods of neutralising wasps I have found is a can of Electrical Contact Cleaner, which is essentially hydrocarbons inna can. (so the automotive starting assist aerosols would also likely work) That stuff knocks the straight out of the air, and would probably take out the whole nest if sprayed in the entrance.
*Dude your laconic delivery got me hooked on your various containment and destruction techniques. Eventually fire will enter the chat. Sub'd yesterday, back today. Keep it rollin'. Cheers!*
Everything about this dude just screams 90s to me.. idk why Whenever i see him and hear his voice i just want to smoke a cigarette and listen to an Alice in Chains or Nirvana album 😂
I think we’re all saying the same thing. He doesn’t do it at night becuase he’s a worker you hire to remove wasps during the work day, who also videos his work for TH-cam, where we comment on the pros and cons of doing it at night, in a kind of cycle. It’s like poetry.
I’m just recalling the Great Stuff video. I don’t think it even compares with this one. I recall it taking much longer to seal it up and that you made several holes to stop them. I could be wrong because I’m old🤣 so I’m going back to see. This was a fantastic removal. So quick to seal the exit. Please tell me you were wearing a N95 mask, or the breeze was blowing it away from you. Like I said, I’m old (and am a nurse) so I’m allowed to worry about my favorite wasp crusher😊💕
I re-watched the other video. It’s kind of hard to make a comparison. The other nest seemed flimsier and there were some blowouts. Also you used the powder spray first, but not sure if that mattered? Considering this nest looked a lot bigger, I would say that this product sealed the hole pretty quickly. Those other wasps were more aggressive, too. I’m no expert so I would like to hear your opinion. Here’s a copy of the link to the other video if anyone wants to watch it. th-cam.com/video/OMwC-owoSmo/w-d-xo.htmlsi=-uFpBjXOzHxVaFRj
I’ll have to use it more I have a crazy shop vac video from like 3 years ago up where I do a hornet nest in the dark during a bad storm it’s pretty crazy
This gentleman is a pro. I have only done one nest in my own yard. Dressed up like winter with hat, scarf and heavy gloves. Sprayed 20 foot wasp spray up the hole for 10 seconds after sunset but just before dark when they were all back in. None came out or came from outside. Knocked nest down next morning, all dead. Sealed in a plastic bag just in case and put in the trash.
Just imagine, you're at home making dinner or watching tv when you hear a commotion.... THEN SMASH!!! A hose comes through your roof and before you know it......... Yeah, I don't really care about them either, not when they build right next to my house. Keep up the entertaining videos dude! I love them ❤
Once I found a little wasp nest in one of my empty garages, and all I had there was a WD-40 spray can. I just sprayed them a little and left. I came back a week after - the nest was dead.
I’m blind without my sunglasses lol winter is the worst too the snow blinds me I have to wear them till it’s dark out my mom always said it’s because I have light blue eyes I don’t know lol
Whats great about the spay foam is that even if the foam doesnt get them, the foam lets off a noxious gas (i believe sulfur dioxide but im not sure). Theyll either be encased in the foam or gassed by it.
I think the great stuff worked better than the lock tight. With the great stuff, it went all throughout the nest, whereas the lock tight went around the comb and didn’t go into the middle. Both were still effective on the hive thankfully- lock tight probably didn’t go all throughout the nest because it was denser and higher quality than great stuff. So locktight would be good for normal foam usage and great stuff would be good for wasp nests. 😊great vid

One of my friends tried this, but the wasps had the nest going into the tree branch, so he filled one hole ONLY. No full auto indoors!😂
Right..
Might as well, that stuff hardens inside the nozzle so those cans are pretty much single use

So are they like the one type of hornet that isn’t a complete asshole?

lol I never noticed it till you said it
I've been doing nests like that since I got started in pest control in 1989. It works great. Seal them in and go in the layers with a bellows duster.
Next time, use a cigarette lighter and WD -40
*Ha!, ha! In certain situations, your mini-flamethrower idea has both merit and entertainment value. This summer might give that a shot. Cheers!*
Hahahaha😂 my dad taught me that as a kid. Yes… as a kid… I would do that at the age of 5
I use starting fluid. It gets a better stream little more flammable😂
WD-40 is based on fish oil your better off using a can of degreaser and a lighter. Works very well on wasps here in Australia.😁😁😁
Or stuff an m80 in the entrance hole lol

It would be better to do this at night time when all the wasps are inside the nest.
Exactly
That would worsen video quality and is unnecessary for the actual removal for the nest and majority of wasps
It would be even better to let someone else do it, which is definitely what I would have done

Here's a tip. Attack the nest at night, this way they will all be in the nest and then fill it with the foam. Foam them in. Permanently.
And miss the chance of crunching them by hand?
My dad used that stuff for the carpenter bees. I was just telling my husband about it. And that was back when there was no youtube.
Would be a good science experiment for school
This is so fascinating for some reason! Love your videos!

I wonder, what would really happen, if dry ice is put inside of a yellow jacket, and hornest best, and then seal with foam?
Interesting, I think the foam would freeze before it did its job though,
What's the point of adding dry ice, they are dying anyways. You can burn the sealed hive.
