I love this guy so knowledgeable and just fun to watch great personality and very funny . It must of been a wonderful experience to play / learn and coach for him . He’s a true master of his craft . I’m glad he makes content it has helped me . Thank you
My son's travel soccer coach asks questions instead of barking commands. He includes "What do you see?". I'm going to use this strategy with youth basketball this winter.
When I started coaching I used to do stand. yes I would yell out instructions. After a while I realized they weren't listening. I asked my son ( Who was on the team) did they ever hear me. Hear me ? No was the answer. SO I sat down. Last night my team was scrimmaging in a gym with no stands and yes the coaches were standing and screaming. so I will be sitting from now on.
Well, I am not taller than the boys rec. league kids I coach, and I stand up so I can see and correct. I teach kids to get them out of rec. league and onto their school team. I appreciate the input on asking the kids what they saw, but mostly it's excuses. They think they are all pros, and can't take correction very well.

I feel the same way about Mr. Bob. Out of genuine curiosity, are you a coach or student of the game?
I only stand up when we start losing. Then I get all nervous and try to figure out how to get back into the game
Thank you for this. Never thought about what you just brought to light.
That's great to hear!

I like your perspective. Something I've thought about for a number of years. Thank you!

You sound like a coach that doesn't have a lot of faith in her players. Maybe you should consider another line of work.
i just started coaching and i thought about whether i should stand or sit, 😂
To me , if they are under 12, you need to stand and direct. Around 8th grade, you want them to direct
