      No nonsense are you kidding me. I saw him use bacon in video but non mentioned in the recipe. How much bacon? This video is about his new thermometer he's new toy he wanted to show off. He should've done a separate video on the stupid thermometer promotion for the commission to sponsor. You must know this guy and putting a good word in for him.

    Whole pork loin is my absolute favorite thing to make for holiday/family/group dinners. I do one for Thanksgiving every year (not a fan of turkey) and try a different method or recipe each time. Bacon does often find its way in to the mix, too.

    After Christmas I'm definitely gonna get one of those MEATER's. Anyone that has a rotisserie, especially, needs one. Definitely more involved when recording the cook. I'm low tech and it's not easy for me. Can't imagine your set up. Your glaze and pork loin looked delicious. Nice addition of those cloves too. I think even vegetarians sneak bacon occasionally, it's so good😂Thanks for sharing😃

    Bare in mind I am a complete newbie as far as rotisserie cooking and also that I would be cooking on a gas grill but would it not be ideal to leave the meat rotating on the rotisserie with the lid open and obviously with the gas turned off during the resting period so as to better distribute the internal juices as the joint rests?

    I used the MEATER when cooking my Thanksgiving Turkey. My iPad actually shut down due to overheating when the sun moved and hit the iPad directly on my patio. I moved it inside to cool and left it by my patio door on the inside of my house for the remainder of the cook ... and where it will be located going forward.

    I thought at the start of the vid you'd use the Napoleon for this. I didn't know you had the Joetisserie for the Big Green Egg. I wonder if they'll develop something similar for the Primo Oval XL, which I bet would be a tad difficult because of the oval shape.

  • @MaZEEZaM

    Great review and video. I know that pre-salting the meat not only makes it more tender but allows the salt to penetrate the whole meat piece, do you think in this case, instead of pre-salting the meat say overnight, do you think if you prepared this for cooking 24 hours before, without the normal salt, do you think the salt from the bacon would penetrate the meat in the same way?

    You should try a Burger priest recipe. It's owned by a guy that has opened a few locations in the Toronto area in Canada. They make five guys look like crap and have some great burger toppings. Food competition is really tough in toronto and they are ranking number one with many groups for best burgers in the city. I haven't seen every one of your burger videos so i can't tell if they have something worth adding to the channel. I do recommend regardless checking them out at least!

    WHAT????? BACON WRAPPED PEACH LOIN????? HOLY MOLY YOU JUST GOT YOURSELF A BRAND NEW SUBSCRIBER MY FRIEND!!! 😊💋✌️🤟👍👍👍👍👍👍 I rather not use the bacon it's so expensive now but I can use the cheap cuts of bacon ends and I can render out the fat, and do a very slow pan sear, and constantly baste it in the bacon fat and save the fried bacon for breakfast. The loin will still have the bacon flavor in it plus to make the loin perfectly juicy inside, I would rub it with a mix of baking soda, corn starch, soy sauce and some honey or brown sugar. Then I would let it sit for about 2 hours at cool temp, then bring it to room temp and do the sear while basting it in the bacon fat. THIS WAS AN AWSOME IDEA AND YOU GAVE ME EVEN MORE IDEAS JUST THINKING ABOUT IT. THANKS ALOT!!

    For those of you who are excited about the MEATER probe, let me fill you in on something. Some of the backers of the Kickstarter, the higher tier backers at that, have been waiting 2+ years for the delivery of their MEATER probes and blocks. Updates to backers are sporadic at best. We're lucky if we get anything every 3 months or so to let us know how our money is being "invested". The sad part is it truly does look to be a great tool. Single MEATER probes shipped out to backers months ago and the updates for the block backers have many questioning if there will ever be a fulfilled pledge.
    Greg, I love your channel and your videos. But I will not watch another episode that stars the MEATER until the people at Apption deliver on their 2+ year promise. What was supposed to ship in a matter of 4 or so months has dragged out over two years with no end in sight. And some backers who have tried for a refund have reportedly been refused. Not a company I will ever do business with again.

    • @BallisticBBQ
      @BallisticBBQ  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you Mitchell. So you know, I'm not involved in the company or the production, but I do know that they had some problems with their initial production. They weren't happy with the quality of the first run and have since resolved the issues. This bing said man, that's Kickstarter. You're more or less investing in a company to help them get off of the ground. You're not ordering a product like on Amazon. Sometimes it takes a while to get up and running. I bought in on a product almost three years ago. It's a frustrating reality I guess. Cheers brother!

    This made me think about a bacon-wrapped recipe from a Anime I like watching called "Food wars",
    which is based in a universe where a huge, multi-billion dollar cooking school is promoting competition by having over-the-top cook-offs.
    At the start of the series, a young chef, Soma, the protagonist, is challenged to make a "meat dish" to a mobster-customer, after her goons have ruined all their fresh meat in their store-room in his dad's diner, in an attempt and ruin their reputation.
    In the pilot episode, Soma makes a smashed-potato, chopped onion and mushroom mix and wrap it all up on bacon and pours over a sauce mix of butter, soy + wine and serves it
