This is experimental. It's the first iteration. I will most likely improve on the style. I want to gauge what people think of this type of content.

Not bad at all. It's a quick bite size format and we can always pause to give time to find the answer. I prefer to try and train my brain to answer quickly.

I've been learning through your TH-cam videos, and this helps a lot!
You are a very good sensai.

I really like this simple style of video. If you improve on the format will you please add furigana above kanji? ☺️

This is a great review tool for the vocab and a good way of getting familiar with the kanji, which is one of the elements of Japanese I tend to struggle with. Nice!

So I'll be honest I'm still on book one I started it around July of last year. It's been hard with my OCD accepting where am I level of Japanese is and being over critical of myself.
I have struggled sometimes to stay motivated also having fibromyalgia doesn't help with my writing since my OCD makes me take longer with my writing to make it look perfect or at least good enough for my brain to accept.
Also when I tried studying German it was hard to stay motivated. I will say since I've been learning Japanese I have overall had better motivation and even though it's taking me a lot longer than it probably should to get through book one. I will say we're learning Japanese for about a month and that I've been studying off and on sometimes consistently and sometimes not.
With all that being said this is helpful with remembering some of the vocab. Since I don't use every word that I've learned as frequently in conversation as I would like I feel I can forget some of the words oreven the phrases.
Even though I'm going through the chapter videos again this will help so I don't have to watch all the videos over to refresh my memory or have to read the chapter again. I will read the chapters again or watch the videos again if it's with my current chapter. But I do try to move forward because like you said things do seem to be clearer once I do that.
Thank you for all these videos they definitely help make the lessons and the things I learned in the book easier to understand. I know sometimes I'll go through a chapter in the book and I won't fully understand something and I watched the video and everything becomes more clear.

i love this!! ive been needing something like this for practice. if the music is slightly quieter i think itll be much better!
also maybe each video can have more of a subject matter? like all vocab for foods or all vocab for the weather and so on. then maybe after a few videos there can just be a mix to study of what we learned from the previous videos :)

Like the format. The one thing I would update is to only show the meaning for the second pronunciation.
That way you can sub-vocalize before it's said, think of the meaning after it's said the first time (if you know it) and then check your knowledge on the second repetition of the word.
I prefer only hearing the Japanese since there are too many reverse translations, and I really just want to feel the Japanese meaning.
For 漢字 you might even repeat a third time and show furigana only on the second pronunciation. More important once you get to book 3.
I'm guessing you can totally automate this and get people to watch it and comment by giving away 宝くじ if they notice they include the hidden word in their comment somewhere in the video. You could have a video a day for 80 days or something, and then do the Kanji books too on any day you don't have other content. Feed that algo!

    • @japanesefromzero
      @japanesefromzero  หลายเดือนก่อน

Yes. I’ve automated this. So it’s all doable.

Thank you I was looking for something like this to study vocabulary from the book, probably the only think in my opinion that I don’t like very much is the music 😭i would be great if you can remove it completely

Would be great to have the english word spoken out as well so we can listen on the go or while we do other things and cant look at the screen!

This could be very helpful, especially for words that I don’t know HOW to pronounce, and where pitch goes. Example: 美しい (うつくしい) - pronounced ‘ootskooshie’.
Edit: the kanji is a great idea!

My opinion will be biased. But you should try reading manga in Japanese to start.
